Update
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of a truly remarkable man, Norman Fredrick Houghton. Norman was one of those rare souls whose presence made the world a kinder place. Whether you knew him for a lifetime or met him only briefly, he had a way of making people feel welcome, valued and at ease. His warmth, quiet wisdom and gentle spirit left an enduring mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A much-loved brother, uncle, Pop, cousin and loyal friend, Norman's family was the centre of his world. He treasured the connections he shared with those around him and gave so freely of his time, compassion and knowledge.
Norman had a deep love and respect for culture, a thirst for knowledge, and a lifelong passion for music that brought joy to so many moments in his life. He also proudly wore his blue and white, with his beloved North Melbourne Kangaroos holding a special place in his heart.
His legacy will not be measured by the years he lived, but by the countless lives he touched, the stories he shared, the wisdom he passed on, and the love he gave so generously. His memory will continue to live on through his family, his friends and the many people whose lives are richer for having known him.
As Norman begins his final journey home to Port Hedland, we invite everyone whose life was touched by him to keep the Houghton family in your thoughts and prayers, to share your memories, stories and photographs, and to join us in celebrating a life that was truly well lived.
Rest peacefully, Norman. Your journey continues, but your legacy will remain forever in our hearts.”
