A Story of Love at Roshana Sunshine Park Aged Care

When Ron Thomas became a resident at Roshana Sunshine Park in June 2024, there was one thing everyone could count on: Colleen arriving each day to visit him. Then, in November 2024, Colleen also became a resident, allowing them to continue life's journey side by side.

When we asked Colleen how long they had been married, she couldn't recall the exact number of years. But she perfectly knows she would choose Ron again if she could go back in time, her answer came without hesitation.

"I wouldn't choose a different man."

Sometimes, the mind may forget the details, but the heart never forgets what truly matters.

At Roshana Care, we've had the privilege of witnessing many beautiful love stories within our communities. They remind us that love isn't just about memories. it's about presence, devotion, and choosing each other, day after day.

A lifetime of love, faith and happiness at Roshana Sunshine Park Aged Care.

At 81 years young, Pat knows that a fulfilling life is built on love, faith and the special moments shared with others.

During our recent interview, we asked Pat what keeps her going, and she shared that her Christian faith and her happy marriage have been her greatest sources of strength and joy.

Reflecting on her marriage, Pat shared that, like any journey, they have experienced their ups and downs, but through it all, they have continued to support each other and remain happily married.

We recently celebrated a very special milestone for our beloved resident, Bluey. The celebration was simple, heartfelt and filled with warmth. Residents and staff gathered together to share a beautiful cake and sing “You are my sunshine” for Bluey, creating a lovely moment of connection and joy.

During a recent conversation with residents Pauline and Bobbie at Roshana Carmel Aged Care, we asked a thoughtful question: “Do you think ageing is beautiful?”

Bobbie’s response was quick and honest: “You can’t avoid it.” Her cheeky answer brought smiles and laughter as we reflected on the journey of growing older.

A fair point, Bobbie! We all shared a laugh and agreed that ageing is beautiful… if only we could skip that part.

Before retirement, Beverley dedicated her career to improving the lives of others through healthcare and education. She worked as a pharmacist and later became a lecturer in pharmacy at Curtin University, sharing her knowledge and helping shape future generations of pharmacy professionals.
