Welcome to Makuru: Winter's Invitation
Welcome to Makuru, the Aboriginal season encompassing June and July.
While autumn is a time to prepare, Makuru invites something different. It is a season of rest, renewal and replenishment.
Nature slows down during winter. The days are shorter. The weather encourages us indoors. The pace shifts.
Yet many of us continue trying to move at the same speed all year round.
This winter, what would it look like to work with the season rather than against it?
To go to bed a little earlier.
To leave more space in your schedule.
To honour your need for rest.
Perhaps Makuru isn't a season to get through.
Perhaps it's a season to embrace.
❄️ How will you honour the slower energy of winter?
