We all need a bit of TLC every now and then. And in Ayurvedic tradition, a little bit every day goes a long way! Abhyanga, or self massage, is one of my favourite morning rituals, and for good reason!

Abhyanga is one of Ayurveda's most cherished rituals — a nourishing practice of applying warm oil to the entire body using slow, mindful massage. More than simply moisturising the skin, Abhyanga is traditionally used to calm the nervous system, support healthy circulation and lymphatic flow, lubricate the joints, and help restore balance to the doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha).

Abhyanga is traditionally performed in the morning before or after a warm shower (depending on what kind of oil you use) and it can also be a beautiful evening ritual to help unwind before sleep.

🌿 Calms the nervous system: Warm oil and rhythmic touch help soothe the senses, encourage relaxation, and supports a healthy release of tension.

🌿 Supports circulation and lymphatic flow: The massage stimulates healthy blood flow and encourages the movement of lymph, supporting the body's natural detoxing process.

🌿 Nourishes the skin: Abhyanga deeply hydrates the skin, improves elasticity, and helps maintain a healthy, radiant complexion.

🌿 Eases muscles and lubricates joints: Regular practice can help reduce stiffness, support flexibility, and soothes tired or overworked muscles.

🌿 Balances the doshas: When the oil is chosen according to your constitution and the season, Abhyanga is traditionally believed to help restore harmony throughout the body and mind.

My personal favourite is our Daily Rituals Body Oil, or you can use black sesame oil which we also stock in our online shop 🙏

🌿 Cultivates grounding and wellbeing: As a daily practice, Abhyanga encourages a deeper connection with your own body, grounding, vitality and overall wellbeing.

This is something I make sure I always include before I start my day. Even a short 15 minute Abhyanga (self massage) practiced daily can become a deeply restorative ritual that supports both physical health and emotional balance.

Save this post if you need a little reminder to take care of you 💕

Winter is nature’s invitation to slow down, nourish deeply, and reconnect with yourself. ❄️✨

Embrace Ayurvedic winter rituals like warm oil massages, grounding meals, herbal teas, and mindful rest to support balance during the colder months. Small daily practices can bring warmth, vitality, and calm from the inside out.

How are you nurturing yourself this winter?

Honestly, I feel like life has gone off the tracks lately.

Since COVID happened, it's almost like the experience of life itself has changed. Everything feels different. Awkward. Hesitant. The feeling of pedalling water but going nowhere. Like I'm holding my breath before the next big thing happens. And when I look out into the world, something big has shifted collectively. Like a train gone off the tracks, it feels like we keep trying to charge ahead the way things used to be, but something doesn't feel quite right.

It's taken a long time for me to come to terms with this feeling, and to plan ahead for the future. To have hope. To dream big. And to know that the future will happen, and there will be something coming next.

I've had to completely re-route myself, dig deep and feel into what really matters for me. And it always comes back to the same things - ocean, surf, friends, making beautiful things with my hands, and Ayurveda. Slow cups of tea in the morning. Waking up early for a surf with dolphins and rainbows as the sun comes up over the horizon. It's the friendships I have in my life, the people I share a home with who have become so important to me, the new challenges and opportunites that I can learn and grow from. Working with clients and seeing the way Ayurveda and natural medicine changes their experience of life. Mixing up our special blend of body oils to post off and brighten someone's day. Watering the garden. Cooking wholesome food. All of this is so important.

So here's to keeping the good things in life. Making a plan. Having hope for the future. And making time for happiness.

PS We have our second Ayurvedic retreat coming up in October. If you would love to make this journey to India part of your life, send me a message. It's an opportunity to rekindle that inner fire again 🔥

So much love to every one of these amazing friends who jumped in and took the leap ✨️💗🫶

We had such a wonderful, fun, diverse group who joined us in India last year to experience the magic and healing power of Ayurveda.

It was special. Powerful. Transformative. Incredible.

A full body reset from the cellular level. We were cleansed and restored into a brighter, shinier version of who we were, and part of that was spending quality time with these beautiful beings ❤️

This year we're going again because it was so good! And we've already had bookings - only two spaces left 🙏 🍃

If you feel called to join us this year, send me a message and we can chat x

The elders always saw the other side, the full picture of life.

Happiness exists at the same time as sadness.
Joy and grief.
Loss and gain.

We cannot have one without the other and also, in truth, we would not be able to feel one without the other. Like two sides of the same coin, the yin and the yang.

Pain is part of life. The life itself becomes how we move through it to reach the happiness that follows.

A little blessing for the busy season ~

May you be surrounded by loved ones

May you dance and play and be merry

May you shine your light and share your truth

May you invite curiosity in each moment

May you remember to breathe

May you know that you are always connected, that you are always very, very essential to making this world a more beautiful place

I know the holiday season can sometimes be a little stressful sometimes but here's a little reminder that you deserve to relax, unwind and enjoy these precious memories with family and friends

From my happy place on the Richmond river 🌈 🌺 🙏

This past year has been one of deep transformation.
Of shedding old skins.
Old stories.
Old identities.
Even old versions of our bodies, our relationships, our sense of certainty.

For many of us, it feels like we’re standing in a strange in-between—no longer who we were,
not quite sure who we’re becoming.

This is the void.

And I know how uncomfortable it can be.

There’s a lot of talk right now about jumping ahead—about leaving 2025 behind, about the symbolism of the snake shedding its skin, about what’s coming next. I feel that pull too. The desire to move on, to arrive somewhere clearer, lighter, more resolved.

But as we enter this new year of 2026… this moment right before the threshold…there is an invitation to stay.

To sit with the questions instead of rushing to answers.

Who am I now, after this year?
What stories have I released?
What stories are still transforming?
Who is no longer walking beside me?
Who has surprised me by staying—through everything?
And who am I becoming, even if I can’t name it yet?

Sending you all so much love ❤️ ❤️
