Feedback in response to questions about the “Awareness Project” meditation course
Just in one are ,,,,Ignorance
There are nine separate forms of ignorance. For this post we’re focusing on just 3.
Here we stay inside the psychological & Cognitive frame of ignorance
Wilful Ignorance: A deliberate decision to avoid looking at facts to escape moral or legal responsibility.
Meta-ignorance: Being completely unaware of what you do not know (ignorance of one's own ignorance).
Rational Ignorance: Choosing not to acquire knowledge because the cost of learning it outweighs the benefits
So, overcoming psychological and cognitive ignorance directly disrupts and helps dissipate the pathways into maladaptive behaviours.
One of the three areas of our upcoming course “the awareness project” involves developing expanded sensory and cognitive awareness creates new neural and mental pathways that allow individuals to break free from cycles of maladaptive thinking.
When you expand these two specific domains, you are actively increasing your brain's "cognitive flexibility." This allows you to perceive more choices in moments of stress, shifting your brain out of its automated, self-destructive survival loops.
Please note: The Awareness Project is not therapy, nor is it intended to replace therapy. It is an educational course that brings together traditional awareness practices from yoga with ideas from contemporary psychology to help people better understand their own patterns of attention, perception, and behaviour.
This is the first trial of the course and your out of pockets will be $140 for the full 7 sessions.
You need to book to secure your place.
