You don’t have to fly today. Just don’t mistake the cage for where you belong.

When I tore my patellar tendon, I remember how scared I was of getting hurt again.

I stopped showing up. Made excuses. Started accepting a version of my life that I wasn’t actually happy with.

And the longer I stayed there, the easier it became to say, “That’s just who I am now.”

I know how hard it is to trust yourself after an injury. Especially when you remember exactly what it felt like when everything went wrong.

You need time to heal. You need support, a plan and small steps that help you find your confidence again.

But please don’t forget what you’re doing this for.

The sport you love. Playing with your kids. Walking into the gym and feeling like you belong there again.

Where you are today doesn’t have to be where your story ends.

If you’re struggling with the mental side of your comeback, comment ‘REBUILD’ and I’ll send you our free Brick by Brick series. đŸ•Šïž

If your hamstring constantly feels tight, stretching it harder may not be the answer.

Sometimes that feeling of tightness is your hamstring telling you it does not have the strength or capacity to tolerate what you are asking it to do.

Foam rolling and stretching may provide temporary relief, but if the tightness keeps returning every time you run, train or play sport, you need to start rebuilding its capacity.

Begin with isometric hamstring holds to introduce load.

Then progress into exercises such as single-leg Romanian deadlifts to build strength at longer muscle lengths.

Your hamstring may not need another stretch.

It may need a reason to feel strong again.

Follow Shranal Prasad | The Mindset Physio and Evolve Physio Cabramatta for more injury and rehabilitation advice.

YOUR BRAIN IS BUILDING NEW ROADS 🧠

Have you ever wondered why something can feel impossible at first, but eventually become second nature?

When you learn a new skill, your brain begins forming and strengthening the neural pathways needed to perform it.

Think of these pathways like roads.

At first, the road may be unfamiliar, difficult to follow and require your full concentration.

But every time you practise, you travel that road again. The pathway becomes stronger, faster and easier for your brain to access.

This is called neuroplasticity—your brain’s ability to change and adapt through experience.

It’s the same process that helps you relearn how to squat, run, jump or trust your body again after an injury.

So if something feels difficult right now, it doesn’t mean you can’t do it.

Your brain may simply still be building the road.

Follow for more content on rebuilding your body and mind after injury.

Meet Linda

A young mum who ruptured her ACL and injured her meniscus during martial arts training.

Before her operation, Linda’s surgeon told her that she would never be the same again.

And
 he was right.

Recovering from a serious injury isn’t only physically demanding. It will test you mentally as well

The pain.
The instability.
The loss of independence.
The fear of reinjury.
The uncertainty of whether you’ll ever trust your body again.

Through all of it, Linda stayed the course.

She continued showing up, putting in the work and rebuilding more than just her physical strength.

Step by step, she learnt to trust her knee again. She rebuilt her confidence, challenged her fears and rediscovered what her body was capable of.

Eventually, Linda returned to martial arts alongside her friends.

She returned to running.

She returned to playing with her children.

And today, she is the most active she has ever been.

So yes, the surgeon was right.

Linda was never the same again.

She became healthier.
Stronger.
Faster.
More confident.
And more present in her own life.

If you’re ready to take your ACL Rehab to the next level
y’all know what to do 🚀

If you’ve suffered an injury and part of you is afraid you’ll never feel like yourself again, this is for you.

Most rehab programs teach you how to rebuild your body.

Very few teach you how to rebuild your confidence, your identity and your trust in yourself after injury.

That’s why we created Brick by Brick.

A 7-part series helping you through the mental and psychological side of injury recovery.

Inside, you’ll get:

đŸ§± Seven 30-minute episodes
đŸ§± Practical homework tasks after each lesson
đŸ§± Tools to confront fear and self-doubt
đŸ§± Strategies to rebuild confidence in your body
đŸ§± A framework to help you stop chasing the old version of yourself and start building the next one

Recovery isn’t just about getting your strength, movement or fitness back.

It’s about learning to trust yourself again.

“If you continue to carry the same bricks, you will continue to build the same home.”

Sometimes the next chapter requires you to put down the bricks that no longer serve you and start building something stronger.

One brick at a time. đŸ§±

Comment “REBUILD” below and I’ll send you access to the first episode in Brick by Brick series.

No payment. No catch.

Just something I genuinely wish existed when I was going through my own injury recovery.

Your hips might not need more stretching, they might need to get stronger.

Save this post and try it during your next lower-body session.

For more exercises and rehab advice, follow Shranal Prasad | The Mindset Physio and .

We don’t gatekeep.

Start with the Thomas Test.

If your thigh stays raised above parallel, this may suggest that your hip flexors are tight or restricted.

But remember: this test assesses mobility, not strength. To assess strength, pay attention to how well you can lift and hold your knee without leaning backwards, rotating your pelvis or cramping.

If that feels difficult, start with these three exercises:

1ïžâƒŁ Supine Marching Hold

Lie on your back, bring one knee towards your chest and hold it there while keeping your lower back and pelvis still.

This strengthens your hip flexors while teaching your core to stabilise your pelvis.

Start with: 3 sets of 20–30 seconds each side.

2ïžâƒŁ Standing Knee-Raise Hold

Stand tall and lift one knee until your thigh reaches approximately parallel.

Keep your trunk upright and avoid leaning backwards or hiking your hip.

This strengthens your hip flexors in a standing position while challenging your balance and pelvic control.

Start with: 3 sets of 15–20 seconds each side.

3ïžâƒŁ Wall Front-Kick Hold

Place your foot against a wall in a front-kick position. Keep your knee straight, brace your core and press firmly into the wall.

The longer lever places more demand on your hip flexors and prepares them for movements such as running, sprinting and kicking.

Start with: 3 sets of 10–15 seconds each side.
