Another reduction in NDIS dietitian pricing.
This week's further reduction in NDIS dietitian pricing, on top of last year's cuts, is another difficult change for both dietitians and NDIS participants.
At a time when the rising cost of doing business is already placing significant pressure on disability dietitians, these continued pricing reductions risk making NDIS service delivery increasingly unsustainable.
Without nutrition, nothing matters.
Nutrition is fundamental to function, achieving participants' goals, independence, health, and quality of life.
Reducing access to Accredited Practising Dietitians may reduce costs today, but it risks increasing healthcare costs tomorrow through preventable nutrition-related complications, poorer health outcomes, and avoidable hospital admissions.
The greatest impact won't be on dietitians. It will be on people living with disability, who deserve timely access to high-quality nutrition care.
Nutrition is not an optional extra. It is essential healthcare. Let's advocate for dietitian so NDIS participants continue to have access to the dietetic care they deserve.
Without nutrition, nothing matters.
