Today, the 9th of August, is International Day of the World's Indigenous People. We join in acknowledging and honouring all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Indigenous Peoples around the world.

This day recognises the strength, resilience, cultures, knowledge and contributions of Indigenous communities, and the importance of protecting and promoting Indigenous rights, voices and self-determination.

We acknowledge the ongoing connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country, Culture, Community and Kin.

Your voice will help improve health messaging and support across Queensland.

If you are 16+, live in Queensland, and identify as a gay or bis*xual man, another man who has s*x with men (cis or trans), a trans woman, or a non-binary person, and have been s*xually active in the last six months, you're eligible to participate.

💚 WORLD HEPATITIS DAY 2026 💚

Test. Treat. Defeat Hepatitis.

This World Hepatitis Day, we're supporting Hepatitis Queensland's call to action to help save lives and prevent hepatitis-related illness across our communities.

✅ Vaccination is available for hepatitis B
✅ Effective treatment is available for hepatitis B
✅ Hepatitis C can be cured with simple and effective treatment

It's time to get tested. Don't let hepatitis go unnoticed.

This year's national theme, "Take the Next Step," reminds us that every action matters. Whether it's getting tested, starting treatment, getting vaccinated, or encouraging someone you care about to learn more, together we can take the next step towards a future free from viral hepatitis.

At 2Spirits and QC, we encourage our LGBTIQA+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy communities to look after their liver health and access testing and care when needed.
