As I reflect on the journey of this year so far, I realise that the upcoming Tending to the Sacred Retreat has been quietly growing alongside me.

The retreat is not about changing or becoming someone new.

It is about creating enough space to remember who you are.

Over four nourishing nights, we will step away from the busyness of everyday life and into a slower rhythm of meditation, gentle movement, sacred ritual, rest, creativity, connection and time in nature.

So much of what has emerged for me this year has come from permitting myself to slow down.

To stop pushing.

To stop searching.

To simply listen.

I believe there is something profoundly powerful that happens when we create the space for clarity to arise naturally.

Perhaps that is what this retreat is really about.

Not finding all the answers.

But creating the space where they can find us.

And that feels deeply sacred indeed.

There is something deeply nourishing about gathering together.

Simply to just pause and connect.

On Sunday, 2nd August, I will be hosting our first Tending the Seasons: Winter Gathering.

Together we will slow down, settle into meditation, share meaningful conversation, enjoy a meal together and honour the season we are currently walking through.

These gatherings are inspired by the natural rhythm of the seasons and the wisdom they offer us.

Winter invites us inward.

To listen.

To reflect.

To nourish ourselves.

To trust what is quietly growing beneath the surface.

If that feels like exactly what your heart is longing for right now, I would love for you to join us.

Sometimes all we need is a space where we can simply arrive exactly as we are, be with others and enjoy community and connection in an intentional and meaningful way.

Winter has always felt like an important teacher to me.

Nature does not apologise for slowing down.

The trees do not worry that they are not producing enough.

The earth doesn't rush into the next season.

Winter reminds us that rest is productive.

That stillness has value.

That which appears dormant is often preparing for new growth beneath the surface.

This year, I feel like I have been living my own winter season.

A season of rest.

A season of reflection.

A season of creating space.

And now, as I begin to feel the first stirrings of something new, I find myself wanting to gather with others who are also navigating their own seasons of change, rest, growth and becoming.

This is exactly what inspired the upcoming Tending to the Seasons: Winter Gathering.

A gentle afternoon of meditation, conversation, ritual and shared meal as we pause together and honour where we are right now.

Not where we think we should be.

But where we actually are.

Over the past few weeks, something has begun to shift for me.

It is hard to describe because it is not yet fully formed.

It feels a little like watching a flower bud begin to open.

You can see something is emerging, but you don't yet know exactly what it will become.

After months of creating space, resting, walking, reflecting, spending time with Henry, and allowing myself not to rush into the next thing, a little bud of knowing has begun to appear.

She is still unfolding her petals.

The vision is not yet completely clear.

The path is not yet fully mapped out.

But there is movement.

There is energy.

There is excitement.

Most importantly, there is trust.

I honestly believe that if I had immediately filled the space, I may never have heard the quiet whispers trying to make themselves known.

Sometimes growth requires room.

Sometimes clarity arrives slowly.

And sometimes the bravest thing we can do is wait for what wants to emerge.

Something I was not expecting when I created more space this year was how uncomfortable it would feel.

For so many years, my life has been filled with caring for children, building a business, teaching classes, hosting retreats, creating events and supporting others.

Then suddenly there was room.

My children are now adults creating lives of their own, while still living at home. They need me differently now.

And while I had asked for more space, when it arrived, it felt bigger than I anticipated.

For a while, I felt a little lost.

Not in a dramatic way.

More like standing in an open field after spending years walking a clearly marked path.

I have come to realise that sometimes feeling lost is not actually being lost at all.

Sometimes it's simply the space between who we have been and who we are becoming.

Perhaps some of you know that feeling too.

At the beginning of this year, I made a conscious decision to pare everything back.

After a few years of saying yes to lots of opportunities, teaching in multiple locations, running events, creating offerings, and working across most days of the week, I entered 2026 feeling a little weary.

I didn't have any real plan. I simply knew I needed space.

Space to breathe.

Space to listen.

Space to stop filling every corner of my calendar and trust that I didn't need to have all the answers immediately.

What I didn't realise was that when you create space, life often fills it in unexpected ways.

For me, that gift arrived in the form of a little puppy named Henry.

As many of you know, Henry joined our family at the beginning of the year, and what a blessing he has been. His enthusiasm for life, endless affection, and ability to make us laugh have brought so much joy into our home.

Sometimes the things we need most don't arrive in the package we were expecting.

This year has been less about doing and more about being.

Less about creating and more about listening.

And that has been exactly what was needed.

Some connections in this life are truly precious.

My weekly sessions with Isaac are one of those gifts I never take for granted.

There is always a loose plan… and then there is the beautiful unfolding in each moment.

Some weeks we move like the weather, swirling like wind, steady like mountains, flowing like rain. Other weeks, we are dancers, runway models, yogis, explorers.

Recently, we created a catwalk out of yoga mats and took turns striking our most fabulous “yoga poses,” with plenty of laughter in between.

There is chatting. Singing. Big belly laughs. Thoughtful pauses. Curious questions. Unexpected wisdom.

What I treasure most is that in our time together, Isaac is completely free to be himself. There is no pressure to perform or be anything other than who he is that day. Just space to explore, to express, to move, to connect.

This photo captures one of our partner yoga moments, balancing together, leaning into trust. A gentle reminder that sometimes the most meaningful work we do is simply showing up, side by side.
