Most Australian mothers start out breastfeeding, but many are unable to continue for as long as they intended. This isn’t a lack of motivation - it reflects a gap in support.

This World Breastfeeding Week, ABA is calling on:

💜 Mums, parents and families to connect with trusted breastfeeding information and support through ABA.
🩺 Health professionals to refer families to the National Breastfeeding Helpline, LiveChat, local groups and evidence-based resources.
🏛️ Policymakers to strengthen the regulation of infant formula marketing in line with the WHO Code, helping protect families from inappropriate commercial influence.

When we strengthen the information, services and protections that work, more families can achieve their breastfeeding goals.

This year’s theme: Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life — Strengthen What Works.

It’s a reminder that breastfeeding support isn’t about reinventing the wheel. So much of what helps already exists — skilled care, informed guidance, communities that show up for mums instead of leaving them to figure it out alone. The work is protecting that, and making sure it reaches the people who need it.

Every feeding journey looks different. However yours looks, you’re doing an incredible job.

Let’s celebrate World Breastfeeding Week with a walk — past clients, present clients, mums with bubs, mums-to-be, and anyone who’d like to join, all welcome.

Exciting news! Starting this Monday, I’ll be joining The Motherhub in Canberra — a specialist pregnancy and breastfeeding clinic — where I’ll be working in their tongue tie clinic on Mondays and supporting lactation care on Tuesdays.

I’m so excited for this opportunity to learn alongside their specialist GPs and endorsed midwives.

My Camden clinic will continue running Wednesday to Friday, and I’ll still be doing home visits as usual. This won’t affect any existing or upcoming bookings — I’m looking forward to continuing to work with you all!
