Blue Wing Care knows how hard it is to get the right supports, so we’re here to provide personalised solutions that help you achieve your goals and live more independently. Blue Wing's mission is to empower and enable individuals and families so they have room to breathe and feel relief. Our staff respect each client and know that every disability is not the same. All of us struggle with very diff

erent circumstances and situations. We don't want you feeling isolated or going through depression alone. Our staff will be there for drop-in supports for you to maintain living in your ideal lifestyle. We will help you get the equipment you might not even know you need or have access to and help you engage with the community. You will also be helped with maintaining a healthy physical and mental lifestyle. Blue Wing operates throughout NSW and QLD. Our disability services footprint in NSW includes Camden, Campbelltown, Liverpool, Parramatta, Bankstown, Penrith, the Central Coast and Tweed Heads. The Queensland (QLD) service area includes the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

Today, we're wearing purple in support of Wear It Purple Day and its message that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and accepted for who they are.

While this day shines a light on LGBTQIA+ young people, the message of inclusion is something we believe extends to every community. At Blue Wing Care, creating spaces where people feel valued, heard and empowered is at the heart of the support we provide every day.

Our participants, support workers and team are wearing purple today because kindness, respect and belonging should never be limited to one day or one group. Everyone deserves to be seen, celebrated and supported.

Communication Creates Possibility.

This year's theme is a powerful reminder that communication is about so much more than words. It's about expressing choices, sharing feelings, building relationships and participating confidently in everyday life.

For many people accessing the NDIS, Speech Pathology opens the door to these possibilities. Whether it's supporting speech sound development, introducing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), or helping with safe eating and swallowing through dysphagia management, our speech pathologists tailor every strategy to fit naturally into daily routines.

Because everyone deserves to be understood, listened to and empowered to communicate in the way that works best for them.

Our Speech Pathology team at BlueWing Care Professionals is here to support children and adults in exploring communication strategies that build confidence, connection and independence.

August marks Children's Eye Health & Safety Month, an awareness initiative led by Prevent Blindness in the United States. It’s a timely reminder for families everywhere to consider the important role vision plays in a child’s early development.

Good vision is about more than reading an eye chart at the optometrist. Children also need to be able to process what they see. Subtle challenges with visual-motor integration may show up in the way a child holds a pencil, catches a ball or manoeuvres around the classroom.

For some children, difficulty concentrating or sitting still may be linked to how they see and process the world around them. Our Early Childhood Intervention and Paediatric Occupational Therapy teams across Brisbane and Cairns work closely with families to identify these challenges early. Through play-based therapy, we help children build the visual-spatial and motor skills they need to thrive at home, at school and in everyday life.

This awareness day is a reminder that every child deserves the opportunity to see, learn and participate with confidence. Recognising potential challenges early can make a meaningful difference to their development and independence.
