A new, fun challenge for you all!

If you were writing an Easy Read document about pets which image of these 3 would be your first, second and third choices, and why?

There's no right or wrong answers, because you are going to decide your document context and what you need the image to mean or say. Tell us below!

Almost half of the Australian population struggles with daily functional literacy, so that includes people in your life, no matter who you are or what you do.

Here are some tips - mostly quick and easy - sorry teachers! to help you make changes to be more inclusive and make sure they know what you are saying and writing.

5 easy ways to be better allies to the people with disabilities in your life (even if you don't know who they are):

1 Listen to what disabled people say, ahead of what non-disabled people say

2 Understand that non-verbal doesn’t mean nothing to say

3 Use the language the person uses

4 Research, recognise and challenge ableism

5 Include people with disability at every level, in every room, at every table.

Teens, young adults and children might not be the biggest fans of the serious Easy Read images we usually use in our documents. Did you know that we have hundreds of images designed specifically for them?!

Mostly by young autistic artists Sezi9 and hiimfn, they are bright and colourful, and designed for younger people to be easy to relate to, without dumbing any messages down.

They cover all kinds of topics including school, work, relationships and friendships, travel, hobbies and winter fun.
