Celebrating an incredible journey. Thank you, Michael 💛

Yesterday was a special day at Lumia Care as we came together to celebrate the retirement of Michael Efstratiou, Advisor within our Disability stream, and thank him for his many years of leadership, support and dedication.

Michael’s journey began with our legacy brand, Meditech, before continuing as part of the Lumia Care family. Throughout that journey, he has brought with him a wealth of experience, a genuine commitment to our people and a deep care for the clients and communities we support.

As one colleague shared, Michael has always been there for our staff, but also for our clients, a reflection of the impact he has made throughout his career.

Looking back on his time with us, Michael said:

“It’s been a fantastic journey… I find it extremely rewarding.”

Our Interim CEO, Paymon Daneshpay, also shared a few words about the legacy Michael leaves behind:

“We hope to continue your legacy, continue all the good work and continue to contribute positively to our clients’ lives and wellbeing. That’s what we’re here to do every single day. And hopefully, we’ll make you proud.”

Our Sydney team had the pleasure of celebrating with Michael in person, with cake and a retirement gift, while colleagues from our offices around Australia joined virtually to share their thanks, gratitude and farewells.

Michael, thank you for your longstanding contribution to Meditech and Lumia Care, for the people you have supported and for the care and guidance you have given along the way.

From all of us at Lumia Care, we wish you every happiness in retirement and all the very best for this next chapter. You will be greatly missed. 💛

Support worker capacity needed in Medowie, NSW

Lumia Care is looking for a reliable local support worker to support a young participant in the Medowie area.

Current support hours are:

Mondays: 3:30pm–6:00pm
Wednesdays: 3:30pm–5:30pm
A male support worker is preferred by the participant

Consistency and reliability are especially important to help build trust and provide the right ongoing support.

🎂 Our Campbelltown Day Program turns 4!

We recently celebrated four wonderful years of our Day Program in Campbelltown, with plenty of dancing, a BBQ and, of course, birthday cake.

Loui, our wonderful support dog, also joined in the celebrations and helped make the day even more special.

Over the past four years, our program has grown and continues to grow, bringing people together to build connections, enjoy new experiences and be part of their local community.

A big thank you to our participants, families and dedicated team members who have been part of the journey so far.

Happy 4th birthday to our Campbelltown Day Program. Here’s to many more memories together.
