This week's National Nursing Forum in Melbourne brought together nurses from across the country and we were proud to celebrate our 2026 scholarship recipients among them.

Our 2026 scholarship recipients are overseas-born nurses now working in metros, regional and rural communities across Australia, and originally from countries including South Korea, India, Nigeria, Kenya and Nepal.

Supported by Anmac in collaboration with the Australian College of Nursing, the scholarship covers registration, travel and accommodation making sure distance and cost aren't what stands between a nurse and an opportunity like this one.

Congratulations to all the recipients and thank you for the care you bring to communities across Australia. 🎉

Anmac welcomes Australia's first National Nursing Workforce Strategy.

Today marks an important milestone for Australia's nursing profession with the launch of the National Nursing Workforce Strategy.

As Australia's independent accrediting authority for nursing and midwifery education, Anmac welcomes the Strategy's focus on strengthening workforce planning, education, regulation and innovation to support a sustainable nursing workforce.

We look forward to continuing to work with governments, regulators, education providers, employers and the profession to support implementation of the Strategy and help build a nursing workforce that is adaptable, highly skilled and ready to care for Australian communities.

This week we are at the National Nursing Forum, and we are proud to welcome our 2026 Scholarship recipients.

In collaboration with the Australian College of Nursing, Anmac is proud to offer scholarships supporting overseas-born nurses living and working in Australia to attend the National Nursing Forum (NNF).

Our scholarship recipients have travelled from Albany in WA, Charleville in QLD, and regional communities across NSW and VIC. Many were originally from South Korea, India, Nigeria, Kenya and Nepal before building their nursing careers here in Australia, often in the towns that need them most.

Overseas-born nurses play a vital role in Australia's healthcare workforce particularly in regional and rural areas, and in supporting culturally diverse communities. But getting to events like this one isn't always easy when you're a long way from a capital city, and registration, travel and accommodation costs add up fast.

That's part of why this scholarship exists - to help remove those barriers and make sure nurses doing vital work in regional and remote areas get the same opportunities to connect, learn and grow in their careers.

If you are at the Forum in Melbourne on 6-7 August, keep an eye out for our scholars and come say hello.

If you are submitting genuine documentation, nothing changes for you.

As AI-generated and digitally altered documents become more sophisticated, Anmac is strengthening how we detect fraud equipping our assessment staff with advanced tools and techniques to spot manipulated documentation.

This isn't about making assessments harder. It's about keeping them fair, rigorous and trustworthy for applicants, employers, and the communities our nurses and midwives will care for.

Protecting integrity protects everyone doing it right.
