Help strengthen Australia’s emergency animal disease preparedness

Animal Health Australia, WA DPIRD, and national Peak Industry Bodies invite livestock industry professionals to take part in the Liaison – Livestock Industry (LLI) workshop in Fremantle on 22 July 2026.

This workshop is designed for those who may represent their industry in a control centre during an Emergency Animal Disease (EAD) outbreak. It’s not general training—it’s targeted, practical, and essential.

✅ Understand the LLI role and how it connects industry and government
✅ Build confidence in crisis communication and coordination

Ready to represent your industry during an emergency animal disease response?

We’re inviting livestock industry professionals to take part in the upcoming Liaison – Livestock Industry (LLI) workshop on Wednesday 22 July – Fremantle, WA.

This workshop is designed for individuals, endorsed by their national Peak Industry Body (PIB), who are prepared to step into the LLI role during an emergency animal disease (EAD) event.

What you’ll gain:
✅ an appreciation of the role you can play supporting your industry during an emergency outbreak
✅ a clear understanding of the LLI function and its responsibilities
✅ practical skills to operate effectively within an EAD response
✅ insights into how industry and government collaborate during a crisis

ℹ️ Queensland livestock movement breaches

Recent biosecurity enforcement action in Queensland, including a record fine for serious livestock movement breaches, highlights the ongoing importance of strong biosecurity and traceability across the livestock supply chain.
Accurate movement records and timely NLIS notifications are everyday actions that help protect animal health, maintain market access and support rapid response if an emergency animal disease outbreak occurs. These systems work best when everyone plays their part to keep our industry safe.
