Gallang Place Welcome to Gallang Place. "Gallang" is a word from the Jagera nation and means "healing". Our aim is to reduce the risk of suicide and self-harm.

Gallang Place provides counselling and training, supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait lslander peoples on their journey of healing, creating healthier lives and relationships. Gallang Place Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Corporation is a non-government organisation and was established in 1994 to meet the emotional and social health and wellbeing

The Live Long Live Strong® program is a program for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Our goal is to support our youth who may be struggling with negative thoughts that could impact on their lives in negative ways. We help provide ways to unravel the turmoil, confusion, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, hopelessness, helplessness, anger, and stress. We support young people to find ways to rebuild their lives, build resilience, confidence, for healthier and more productive lives. We do this by providing social and emotional health and wellbeing programs (therapeutic counselling and support). Gallang Place is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community based organisation, providing culturally sensitive support services, we provide a space for healing and supports cultural safety. We have strict rules about client safety, confidentiality, privacy, client rights, and professional conduct of our staff. Live Long Live Strong :)


Partners In Recovery Program - PIR

If a serious ongoing mental health problem affects you or someone you care for or someone in your family the Partners in Recovery program (PIR) may be able to help you. Our job in PIR is to provide better support for people living with severe and persistent mental health. We provide support by connecting people with support services to improve the living conditions and wellbeing of those experiencing mental health


Gallang Education & Training (GET)

Gallang Education & Training (GET) is the registered training arm of Gallang Place. GET delivers nationally accredited and non-accredited courses. Accredited courses include: Diploma of Counselling, Certificate III in Mental Health. GET provides flexible training programs that are developed and delivered by trainers in a culturally aware and supportive learning environment.
