Before deciding if an X-ray is necessary, your Oral Health Therapist will carry out an in-chair assessment. This includes discussing your dental history, checking your teeth and gums, assessing your symptoms, and determining whether an X-ray will provide valuable information for your care.

X-rays are only recommended when they’re clinically necessary to help diagnose problems that can’t be seen during a routine examination.
