🦴💙 BUILD STRONG BONES FOR LIFE!
Healthy bones are important at every age, and the good news is that there are simple habits we can build into our everyday lives to support our bone health.
This World Osteoporosis Day (20 October), Top Health Doctors encourages you to think about the steps you can take to look after your bones today and into the future.
💪 Move your body: Include weight-bearing activities, such as walking, and strength exercises in your routine.
🥛 Nourish your bones: Enjoy a balanced diet with calcium-rich foods and adequate vitamin D to support bone health.
☀️ Get to know vitamin D: Safe sun exposure, dietary sources and supplements when appropriate can help maintain healthy vitamin D levels.
🚭 Make healthy choices: Avoid smoking and keep alcohol consumption within recommended guidelines.
🩺 Be proactive: Osteoporosis can develop without obvious symptoms. Talk with your GP about your bone health, particularly if you have risk factors or are approaching or experiencing menopause.
Small, consistent habits can make a difference to your long-term wellbeing. If you have concerns about your bone health, your GP can discuss your individual risk factors and whether further assessment is appropriate.
💙 Strong bones start with healthy habits!
