Our SLES team recently had the pleasure of supporting one of our participants as they settle into their new job at The Karma Collective. 🌿

🌿Look what's growing at the Bush Pantry! 🌿

Our new cafe garden is taking shape beautifully, with fresh lettuce, strawberries, herbs, peas and more already thriving.

This project was made possible through a Redland City Council Councillor's Grant, and we are incredibly grateful for the support. The garden will provide fresh produce, hands on gardening opportunities and a welcoming green space for our café and social enterprise to enjoy.

Meet Our Cert 3 Trainers – Kiera & Shane!

Reintroducing Kiera and Shane, our incredible trainers leading the Cert III in Individual Support (Disability) at Myhorizon!

Their current intake is nearly finished, and they will soon be gearing up for their next intake starting Monday 19th October.

With their wealth of experience, passion for the disability sector, and dedication to empowering students, Kiera and Shane are here to guide, mentor, and support our students every step of the way.

Whether you are starting a new career or upskilling you are in great hands with this dynamic duo!

Training takes place at Myhorizon, Capalaba, where students gain hands-on experience, real-world skills, and the confidence to make a difference in the lives of others.

Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) Workshop

Join Myhorizon and Redland City Council for a practical, interactive session delivered by the Queenslanders with Disability Network. Designed for people with disability, their carers, and support networks, this workshop will help you start developing a Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) plan.

· Learn about disaster risks in the Redland City, and where to go for information

· Learn about the four steps to increase your preparedness

· Start your own plan using the P-CEP Workbook

If there’s someone you’d like to involve in the conversation such as a family member, friend, or support worker, please feel free to bring them along and don't forget to register them. A free lunch will be provided.
