Nothing makes me happier than hearing a client say they’ve decided they’re taking control of their health and that nothing is going to get in their way.

I genuinely get so excited when I hear things like this because this is the part no one else can do for you.

I can give you a plan. I can teach you about nutrition. I can answer your questions and support you along the way. But I can’t make the decision to change. That part has to come from you.

Watching that shift in someone is honestly one of the best parts of what I do. 🤍

Most of us have been there...

You eat a meal, then an hour later you’re hungry again and wonder, “How am I hungry already?!” 🤯

Sometimes the answer is simply that you didn’t eat enough for your needs. But sometimes, that’s not the reason at all.

Sometimes your meal just wasn’t built to keep you full.

The good news is this is something you can actually do something about.

A few simple changes to the way you build your meals can make a huge difference to how full and satisfied you feel afterwards.

This is exactly why I ramble on about balanced meals so much.

Different foods do different jobs. Protein, fibre, healthy fats and carbohydrates all bring something different to the table. When one or two are missing, it’s often not long before you’re back in the pantry searching for more.

Nutrition doesn’t need to be complicated. Sometimes it’s just about understanding what your body needs and listening to what it is trying to tell you. 🤍

If you’ve ever sat there feeling completely full but still reaching for more food, thinking …

“What’s wrong with me?”

“Why can’t I just stop?”
..you’re not alone. 🤍

There are so many reasons this can happen, and very few of them have anything to do with willpower.

As you’ll notice, many of them start in the brain.

Your brain is constantly receiving and sending signals about hunger, fullness, reward, stress, habits, satisfaction and energy. It’s interpreting what’s happening in your body and your environment, then influencing the choices you make.

This is why stress management, sleep, habits and nervous system regulation are so closely intertwined with nutrition.

It’s also why I don’t just hand my clients a meal plan and send them on their way.

Because knowing what to eat is only one piece of the puzzle.

If stress, routines, habits, satisfaction or your environment are driving the behaviour, no meal plan alone is going to create lasting change.

Real change comes from understanding why you’re eating the way you are, so you can respond to the real need instead of constantly fighting the behaviour.

Next time you catch yourself eating when you’re already full, don’t ask “How do I stop?”

Ask “What is my body, or my brain, actually asking for right now?”

Getting back into routine doesn’t mean cutting out chocolate 🙌🏼

One thing I’ll never do after a holiday is try to make up for it.

No detoxes.
No skipping meals.
No restriction.

We simply get back to what we normally do.

For us, that means our little kitchen sessions where Amali chooses what we’re making. This week it was chocolate covered strawberries. 🍓🍫

This is exactly why I believe healthy eating should fit into your life, not take it over.

If your routine only works when life is perfect, it’s not a routine you’ll keep.

Real life includes holidays, birthdays, weekends away, busy weeks and yes... chocolate.

The goal isn’t to be perfect.

The goal is to build habits that are so realistic, enjoyable and sustainable that no matter what life throws at you, you know exactly what to come back to.

Because that’s what creates lasting health. Not what you do for a week, but what you do consistently over the years. 🤍

Flight 1 from LAX -> Tokyo was a success on ANA.

Let’s pray flight 2 from Tokyo -> Perth is also good. As someone who cannot eat gluten or dairy it’s always tricky when you can only choose one allergy for a special meal. I always opt for GF but you always run the risk of being served meals full of dairy 😅🥛

Wish me luck. 🤞🏼

Mums really are the best, aren’t they? ❤️

Every time you start a new diet or download another meal plan, you’re borrowing someone else’s decisions.

But life doesn’t happen on a meal plan.

It happens at restaurants.
On holidays.
At birthdays.
At work lunches.
At family BBQs.
At buffets.
On the nights you can’t be bothered cooking.

The women who make healthy eating look effortless aren’t following a perfect plan every day.

They’ve learned the skill.

They know how to build a balanced meal, how to eat out without guilt, how to enjoy a holiday without feeling like they’ve “blown it”, and how to get back to their usual routine without needing to start again on Monday.

The goal isn’t another meal plan.

It’s never needing one again. 🤍

Posting daily for almost a year and I’m still searching for my people 👀

Where are all my women and mums that care about their health? That care about feeling good, looking good and showing up as their best self? Who want to fuel their families as well as possible, without the confusion? Who are tired of ultra processed foods and feeling like crap? I’m here to help cut through the noise 🤍
