How much do the rebates actually save you upfront?

Tony's answer: it depends what you're replacing your system with. Upgrade to a heat pump or solar and you could save $500 to $1,000 off the install cost. The exact rebate depends on the system going in.

Doesn't matter what you've currently got. Old electric tank, ageing gas unit, whatever it is. You may be eligible once you upgrade to a heat pump or solar.

Instead, we organised temporary hot water for them in the meantime.
