PHYSIO PATIENT NEEDED
Thurs 22nd Aug - 2pm, Floreat

We are looking for a patient who has had pain for more than 3 months. The pain can be anywhere (neck, back, hip, headaches, nerves etc)

One of Alicia's registrars is undergoing her Specialist Physiotherapy training and needing to sit a mock exam on a patient, while being examined by a Specialist.

The session is FREE, will run for about an hour, and assists her in preparing for her final clinical exams.

If you can't make Thursday, but can make another time, we will pop you on a "callback" list for some other registrars to contact you.

Thank you!

We are very excited to welcome Emily Collins to the North Midlands!!

Emily is a physiotherapist from Notre Dame University who studied under Alicia in Geraldton.
Emily was one of her best students, so we actively recruited Emily to work in the area.

Emily has completed placements at Perth Children’s Hospital, Geraldton musculoskeletal outpatients, neurology and worked with sporting teams in Perth.

Emily has lots of relatives in the Mid West, so understands the region and the demands of travel, farm life and access to resources.

We are exceptionally lucky to have Emily working full-time, with Mon, Tues and Thurs in Three Springs at the medical centre.
And Wednesday in Carnamah at the medical centre.

Emily will complete regular mentoring with Alicia to continue to develop her clinical skills and provide an opportunity for collaboration.

We are very humbled by the nomination and grateful for the ongoing support of the region.
We wish Alicia the best in the Rising Star category.
The Awards Night will be held 22nd October.

⭐⭐ 2022 WA RURAL HEALTH EXCELLENCE AWARDS ⭐⭐

Introducing the final finalist for the Rising Star category - Alicia Rayner from Alicia Rayner Physiotherapy.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Prior to returning to her hometown of Carnamah, physiotherapist Alicia Rayner worked with a range of elite sporting clubs such as Melbourne Stars Women’s Big Bash, Cricket Victoria Women’s Program, and Melbourne University Rugby Union Club.

In 2018, she opened Alicia Rayner Physiotherapy which provides services to both the Carnamah and Geraldton communities.

Since establishing her practice, Alicia has taken a lead role in supporting the ongoing professional development of her health colleagues in the region.

Alicia’s regular workshops and seminars on musculoskeletal pain are attended by fellow physiotherapist, doctors, pharmacists and exercise physiologists.

She also mentors physiotherapy students on work placements, with many former students returning to work in the region as a result of their positive experiences with Alicia.

One aspect of the placements Alicia coordinates encourages students to develop and deliver a service not otherwise provided in the community.

Alicia was instrumental in sourcing grant funding to install community gyms in Carnamah and Eneabba and has trained local community members to deliver Fitball and Pilates classes in the two towns.
