Dr Shasha Alizadeh from The Laser Doctor Clinic Perth is now providing cosmetic consultations at Carnarvon Medical Centre.

Consultations provide an opportunity to discuss your individual concerns, treatment goals and suitability for available cosmetic treatment options.

Any treatment recommendations are made following an individual medical assessment and discussion of the potential benefits, risks and alternatives.

Dear Patients,

We would like to let you know that Dr Barbara Van Der Werf will be finishing with Carnarvon Medical Centre on Friday, 11th September 2026, after 7 years of dedicated care to our community. Barbara is relocating to Brisbane to be closer to family.

We thank Barbara sincerely for her care and commitment to our patients over the years, and we wish her all the very best for the future.

Visiting Psychologist at Carnarvon Medical Centre

We're pleased to welcome Dannielle, Psychologist, to Carnarvon Medical Centre on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th September 2026.

If you have a current Mental Health Treatment Plan, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate towards your session fee with Dannielle. Once your Mental Health Treatment Plan sessions have been used, Dannielle can also see clients under a Chronic Condition Management Plan.

Dannielle also sees clients through Workers' Compensation, NDIS, and private referrals.

To access these sessions, please book an appointment with your GP to discuss your needs and arrange a referral.

Boostrix protects against whooping cough, tetanus and diphtheria. It would normally cost around $70, but it is now free for eligible people in our region.

With recent diphtheria cases in our Gascoyne , this is an important opportunity to make sure your protection is up to date.

You may be eligible if it has been more than five years since your last tetanus/diphtheria-containing vaccine and you are:

-living in the Midwest, Kimberley, Pilbara or Goldfields

Carnarvon community – important vaccine update -BOOSTRIX Free in the Gascoyne for residents

Free whooping cough / tetanus / diphtheria boosters (Boostrix/Adacel) are now available for some higher‑risk groups in regional WA because of recent diphtheria cases.

You may be eligible if you are:

Aboriginal and living in WA

A non‑Aboriginal person living in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Goldfields or Midwest

Someone who regularly has face‑to‑face contact with Aboriginal communities in those regions

And:

It has been more than 5 years since your last tetanus / diphtheria‑containing vaccine, and you are not already due for a routine NIP dose.

You can check your immunisation history in your MyGov (Immunisation History), My Health Record, or contact us.

The Cook Labor Government is delivering the largest boost to the Patient Assisted Travel Scheme, increasing the fuel subsidy from 26c to 40c per kilometre.

PATS provides vital support and cost-of-living relief for regional Western Australians by subsidising the costs associated with seeking care away from home.

This increase helps more people living in the regions access the medical care they need, no matter where they live!

Flu vaccines for under 65s are here ✅
From 1 May to 30 June 2026, people aged 12–64 can get a free flu shot at Carnarvon Medical Centre, as well as those already eligible (65+, pregnant women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people with certain medical conditions).
To book or check if you’re eligible, call 9941 1169 and ask to book with the nurse.
