Today we had the pleasure of attending the Change, Youth Mental Health Forum at University of Newcastle, Australia. This one day conference for young people focuses on “doing” mental health rather than talking about it. Such an empowering event.

BEING's "We're All Ears! Regional Roadshow" returns next week, visiting the Central Coast for the penultimate stop of the tour.

We're grateful to the folks at The Su***de Prevention Network for hosting a couple of sessions at the Evolve Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub, Charlestown so community members and local organisations can share their views on the issues affecting mental health in the region, and we can: hear what's important to you, what changes you'd like to see, and what should be included in a future Human Rights Act.

Session 1 - Consumers
Wednesday 12 August, 3-5pm
For people with lived or living experience of mental health challenges and their families, carers and supporters.

Session 2 - Agencies
Thurs7day 13 August, 9-11am
For local services, organisations, practitioners and community groups working in mental health and wellbeing.

Last Tuesday marked an important milestone with the launch of the Evolve Hub in Forster.

Born from the vision of Kelly Kay to honour Kahi’s legacy, the Evolve Hub is helping make mental health support more accessible, ensuring people can access help before they reach crisis point.

We’d also like to thank Corinne Stephenson and the team at Forster Neighbourhood Centre for their partnership in bringing this vision to life, and Tanya Thompson MP for joining us to celebrate and for your ongoing support.

Finally, thank you to everyone who attended the launch. Your support reminds us of what’s possible when communities come together with a shared purpose.

This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to continue building stronger, more connected communities together. 💙
