Not sure what to expect from your abdominoplasty scar?

A standard tummy tuck involves a hip-to-hip incision along the bikini line, as well as a small circular scar around the navel. Your scar will generally first appear as very fine and white in colour straight after surgery (although often not visible due to dressings), before progressing from deep purple, to red, to pink and then slowly fading back to pale purple and then white over 18 months to 2 years.

This patient’s abdominoplasty scar is pictured at just 9 months-surgery.

The shape and dimension of the scar is primarily determined by how the incision heals. It is important to remember that even with an incision created by a skilled Specialist Plastic Surgeon like Dr Moncrieff, every patient’s healing journey is unique. Genetics and adherence to post-operative instructions play a great role in the final outcome of the scar – so after surgery Dr Moncrieff passes the baton on to you to ensure together you reach a great outcome!

Post-pregnancy abdominoplasty, breast uplift and fat transfer. See the comments section below to view her results from all angles ⬇️

Dr Moncrieff performed a small breast reduction, uplift and ar**la to reshape and reposition the breasts post-breastfeeding. Fat was transferred from the inner thighs to the breasts to restore a small amount of fullness to the upper pole without the use of an implant. He also performed an abdominoplasty (also known as a tummy tuck) to repair 3cm abdominal muscle separation and create a new navel.

WHY MUSCLE REPAIR?
Dr Moncrieff finds that most women experience some degree of muscle separation after birth due to the expansion of the abdominal wall to accommodate for a growing baby. For some women, the muscles will come back together over time, but for others unfortunately they do not. Incorporating muscle repair into a tummy tuck procedure can alleviate many of the chronic symptoms that come with muscle separation, including incontinence, lower back and abdominal pain, postural issues, pelvic floor dysfunction and more.

COST
The out-of-pocket cost for this procedure starts at $43,200 (total costs for an insured patient including our Plastic Surgeon, hospital, anaesthetist, garment, post-operative visits, LED Healite treatment for scars, etc).

Two-stage breast lift, augmentation and abdominoplasty by Dr Moncrieff following 50kg weight loss. See the comments section below to view this patient’s results from all angles ⬇️

A great reminder that Rome is not always built in a day! This patient underwent a staged approach to surgery to achieve this result. For her first operation, Dr Moncrieff performed a breast uplift, ar**la reshaping and abdominoplasty to remove excess skin after such significant weight loss. Twelve months later, he performed a second-stage breast augmentation using 445cc anatomical implants and fat grafting to complete her breast transformation.

CAN I HAVE A TUMMY TUCK BEFORE I HAVE CHILDREN?
This is a common question we hear, particularly from young patients who have experienced mass weight loss and are struggling with heavy excess abdominal skin but may wish to have children in the future. While the answer to this question depends entirely on individual circumstance, as a general guide, if children aren’t in the picture for the next five years you may be a candidate for a tummy tuck now. More information about timing your plastic surgery procedure and the impact pregnancy may have on your results can be found here: https://hunterplasticsurgery.com.au/news/pregnancy-and-plastic-surgery

Dual plane breast augmentation by Dr Moncrieff. Watch until the end to see her results from all angles ▶️⁣

Dr Moncrieff performed a breast augmentation (or augmentation mammoplasty in medical terms) using 330cc anatomical implants and a specialised dual plane technique to achieve this result.⁣

WHAT IS THE DUAL PLANE TECHNIQUE?⁣
Dual plane is an implant placement technique which involves placing the upper portion of the implant under the pectoral muscle, while allowing the lower half of the implant to sit directly under the breast tissue, over the pec muscle. Dr Moncrieff finds the dual plane technique allows the breast implant to sit in the most natural position, concealing any ‘step’ along the implant’s upper edge. You can learn more about Dr Moncrieff’s dual plane technique here: https://hunterplasticsurgery.com.au/news/what-is-a-dual-plane-technique (link in bio)⁣

$100 3D VECTRA SIMULATION⁣
To explore what different sized breast implants may look like on your own body, you can book a $100 Vectra 3D surgery simulation with our Practice Manager. This cost is rebated against your consultation with Dr Moncrieff. For more information, visit our website.⁣

COST⁣
The out-of-pocket cost for breast augmentation starts from $15,000 (total cost includes our Plastic Surgeon, hospital, anaesthetist, garment, post-operative visits and LED light therapy for recovery and scar minimisation).⁣
