MEN’S HEALTH WEEK 2026

Looking after your health does not need to become a complete lifestyle overhaul overnight.

The basics still matter.

Eat a little better. Move more. Get some decent sleep. Drink more water. Ease up on the alcohol. Take a proper break. Speak to someone when things start building up.

None of this fixes every problem on its own.

But when the basics slide for long enough, everything else usually gets harder.

Pick one thing and start there.

If something does not feel right physically, mentally or emotionally, see a GP.

MEN’S HEALTH WEEK 2026

Your mental health matters too.

Mental health is not separate from your overall health.

Stress, anxiety, low mood, poor sleep, burnout, relationship pressure and feeling constantly switched on can all build quietly over time.

A lot of men keep functioning while things are getting harder underneath.

You do not need to wait until everything falls apart before you do something about it.

Start with a conversation.

If something does not feel right physically, mentally or emotionally, see a GP.

Game II tonight.

We might be a counselling service, but let’s not pretend we’re neutral on this one.

Queensland has a way of showing up when it matters.

Passion. Pride. Maroon blood.

Let’s go QLD.

MEN’S HEALTH WEEK 2026

Stop putting off the check-up.

A lot of men wait until something gets worse before booking a GP appointment.

The check-up gets pushed back. The blood test sits on the to-do list. The pain gets ignored. The fatigue gets written off as being busy.

Men’s Health Week is a good time to stop delaying it.

Book the appointment. Follow up the test. Ask the question.

Getting something checked early is usually easier than dealing with it later.

If something does not feel right physically, mentally or emotionally, see a GP.

Great morning at Bacon, Blokes & Banter in Beachmere.

It was really good to see a community event like this being created, especially during Men’s Week. These are the kinds of simple, practical spaces that matter, men getting together, having a feed, meeting local services, and having conversations that might not happen in a clinical setting.

It was lovely meeting everyone involved and being able to represent Man Counsellor at the event was a privilege.

A big thank you to the organisations and community leaders who showed up and supported the morning, including:

Dads Community Public
Ariana Doolan MP, representing the office of Terry Young MP
Mark Ryan MP
The Man Walk Beachmere
Beachmere District Mens' Shed
Nutrition Warehouse
World Gym Morayfield
Better Together - Our Health, Our Way

A special thank you to Cass from Caboolture Medicare Mental Health Centre for organising the event and bringing everyone together. It takes effort to create these spaces properly, and it was clear there was a genuine intention behind the morning.

I look forward to speaking with Cass further and exploring how Man Counsellor may be able to work alongside local services and community groups to support more men in practical, accessible ways.

Men’s health does not always need to start with a big conversation. Sometimes it starts with breakfast, a coffee, a familiar face, and someone being willing to ask, “How are you going?”

MEN’S HEALTH WEEK 2026 | DAY 1 OF 7

Men’s health is more than one thing.

It is easy to think about men’s health as exercise, weight, blood pressure or getting a check-up when something starts to hurt.

Those things matter. But they are only part of the picture.

Stress. Sleep. Relationships. Work pressure. Isolation. Drinking habits. Mental load. Whether you can switch off. Whether you have someone you can speak honestly with.

They all count.

The theme for Men’s Health Week this year is “See a GP.”

If something does not feel right physically, mentally or emotionally, do not keep putting it off. Book the appointment and start the conversation.

This week, we will share one practical message each day. No lectures. Just a reminder that looking after your health does not need to begin with a crisis.

Thinking about counselling but not sure where to start?

There is a lot of noise online about mental health support. Different qualifications. Different approaches. Different costs. Different ways to access help.

It can be hard to work out what actually suits you.

We have put together a practical guide to men’s counselling in Australia for 2026.

It covers what counselling is, the kinds of issues men commonly bring into sessions, how online counselling works, what to expect from the first appointment, privacy, costs, and how to choose the right person to speak with.

No pressure. Just a clear place to start.

High performance does not always mean high wellbeing.

Some of the most capable men are still dealing with anxiety, stress, emotional fatigue or burnout underneath the surface. The issue is that they are still functioning, so it often goes unnoticed.

Just because a man is getting things done does not mean he is doing fine.

If this resonates, the blog explores why high-performing men often struggle in silence and what to look out for before things escalate.

Men’s Health Week is coming up from 15–21 June.

Over the following seven days, we will be sharing practical reminders about physical health, mental health and emotional wellbeing.

This year’s message is simple: see a GP.

When something does not feel right, it is easy to keep putting it off. Work gets busy. Family responsibilities take priority. You tell yourself you will deal with it later.

Sometimes later turns into months or years.

Looking after your health does not need to start with a major life overhaul. It can begin with booking the appointment, asking the question, or finally dealing with something you have been ignoring.

Follow Man Counsellor throughout Men’s Health Week for straightforward reminders you can actually use.
