Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Volunteers’ Father’s Day Stall and Raffle yesterday! 💙

As part of our 25th anniversary celebrations, our St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside Volunteers sold homemade items, delicious treats and raffle tickets for a selection of wonderful prizes, helping to raise funds for our Silver Jubilee Garden Appeal.

The stall was a huge success, made possible by the generosity and ongoing support of our incredible community. Thank you to everyone who came along, supported the stall and helped us get one step closer to creating more space for our community to enjoy.

Celebrating our Support Services and Non-Clinical Teams for Support Services Staff Appreciation Day 💙

Today, we celebrated the incredible staff behind the scenes who help St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside run safely, smoothly and with compassion every day.

Our Support Services and Non-Clinical Staff Day was an opportunity to say a big thank you to the teams whose work is essential to the care we provide to our patients and their families.

rom Patient Administration and Food Services to Environmental Services, Engineering, CSSD, People & Culture, Workplace Health & Safety, Marketing & Business Development, Orderlies, Theatre Orderlies and everyone in between, every role makes a difference.

To show our appreciation, staff were treated to some well-deserved brownies and socks for the opportunity to celebrate together.

To all our Support Services and Non-Clinical staff, thank you for everything you do.

Your dedication, teamwork and commitment are a vital part of our hospitals and the care we provide to our patients and their families.

Celebrating 25 years of St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside ✨💙

Our recent Silver Jubilee celebrations were a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the people and partnerships that have shaped Northside over the past 25 years.

As we continue celebrating this milestone throughout the year, we thank the patients, staff, doctors, volunteers, community partners and supporters who have been part of our journey.

Here's to 25 years of care, compassion and community.

Following a hip or knee joint replacement, a growing number of our patients are spending two nights or less time in hospital. As part of St Vincent’s Bringing Care Home strategy, we are transforming care, allowing patients to spend more time doing the things that matter, rather than extended time in a hospital bed.

Many patients report sleeping better at home, have a lower risk of hospital-acquired infections, a faster return to independence and normal routine and more family and carer involvement in their recovery when leaving hospital earlier. Read more here - https://bit.ly/4c7D2BV

25 years of St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside 💙

Twenty-five years ago today, St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside opened its doors to provide compassionate healthcare to Brisbane's growing north side.

Since welcoming our first patients on 30 July 2001, our hospital has grown alongside our community. What began with 90 beds, six operating theatres and two cardiac catheter labs has evolved into one of Queensland's leading private hospitals, expanding our services, embracing new technologies, and continuing to meet the changing healthcare needs of our community.

Today, we began our 25th year celebrations with our annual Foundation Day Lunch, where members of our Executive Team served a delicious lunch prepared by our Food Services team. With something for everyone, it was a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, reflect on how far we've come and celebrate the people who have made our hospital what it is today.

For 25 years, our dedicated staff, doctors, volunteers and support teams have remained committed to delivering patient-centred care with compassion, excellence, justice and integrity. Every milestone we've achieved has been made possible by the members of our dedicated team.

We're incredibly proud of our first 25 years and the legacy we've built together. Here's to continuing to grow, innovate and care for our community for the future.

Mary Aikenhead believed that caring for people starts with compassion.

Today the team at St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside celebrated her legacy with a simple soup lunch, recognising that some of the most meaningful moments happen when we slow down, share a meal and connect with one another.

Her spirit of service continues to shape the way we care for our patients, our colleagues and our community. 💜

Celebrating 50 years of NAIDOC Week ❤️🖤💛

This NAIDOC Week, members of our team joined colleagues from St Vincent's Private Hospital Brisbane, St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba, and St Vincent's Care at the Art Shell at St Vincent's Private Hospital Brisbane for the launch of the Deadly 50 exhibition.

As we celebrate 50 years of National NAIDOC Week, this year's theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," honours the achievements of the past while looking ahead to the future, recognising the strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the generations who will continue to lead, inspire and create lasting change.

The exhibition features 50 powerful portraits and stories of First Nations employees from across St Vincent's Health Australia, celebrating the knowledge, compassion and leadership they bring to patient care, community wellbeing and our shared mission every day. Together, these stories honour where our First Nations staff come from, who they are today and the strength we continue to build for the future.

The morning began with a Welcome to Country from Uncle David Miller, an esteemed Elder and former Queensland National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholic Council (NATSICC) representative. Guests then heard reflections from Darlene Dreise, Group Manager Reconciliation.

We were also privileged to hear from Queensland First Nations employees Annette Stevenson, Wade Jackson, Courtney Moy, Josh, and Asunta Garling, who each shared what Deadly means to them and reflected on the importance of culture, identity and connection.

Guests also enjoyed a moving performance by Taleatha Wright-Morgan, before sharing refreshments featuring native Australian ingredients, including jam drops made with emu eggs and freshly baked scones served with homemade fig jam from Figjam & Co.

As we mark this significant milestone, we proudly acknowledge the enduring strength, wisdom and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, celebrate the leadership of our First Nations colleagues, and reaffirm our commitment to listening, learning and walking together towards reconciliation.

St Vincent’s Bringing Care Home strategy is all about delivering more personalised care to the community – not just in the walls of our facilities.

In Brisbane, our Medical Care at Home team is making a difference in supporting patients so they don’t need to make a return trip to hospital for something which can be safely implemented at home, with the support of a trained nurse.

Stomal Therapy Awareness Week 💙

This Stomal Therapy Awareness Week, we proudly recognise and celebrate our dedicated Stomal Therapy Nurses at St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside.

This year's theme, "Every Journey. Together.", acknowledges that every person's experience with a stoma is unique and highlights the importance of the specialised support that helps patients navigate each stage of their care.

Stomal Therapy Awareness Week also serves to raise awareness, reduce stigma and recognise the health professionals and support networks who help people living with a stoma thrive.

With expertise, compassion and understanding, our specialist nurses provide education, advocacy and ongoing support that empowers patients to regain confidence, maintain independence and live life to the fullest.

We thank our Stomal Therapy Nurses for the exceptional care they provide and for the positive impact they make on the lives of our patients and their families every day.
