I have been working on the coaster holder for a couple of days. The coasters were a little bigger than the width of the holder so I had to carve it out to make them fit. While adding the named piece to the front of the holder 🫤 it broke, so I had to fashion a new one.
Now the set is ready for the kiln.

My new favourite thing. Plein Air Painting/Drawing. Our group had a class with Ben Winspear at Vintners Sectet and then I took a class with Kaz Stanton in Bundaberg.
Next project will be making a travel box to house my paints and canvases/ or watercolours and paper.

I enjoyed a productive day of pottery-making with my family last week. The experience was particularly meaningful as I worked on a set of coasters featuring grasses found in the area where my daughter currently resides. Additionally, I began working on the base piece of a totem pole, which will be a significant component of the overall piece. Both my son and daughter-in-law demonstrated impressive creative skills.

This is the outcome of retaining a piece of pottery for an extended period…. It undergoes continuous transformation. I have incorporated lighter slip and applied a bit of sgraffito to complete it. It is now ready for firing!

I’ve been going through some of my Mum’s old creative arts books and stumbled upon this prawn.
I have been saving the dog tins and wondering what I can create with them.
The first one I fashioned out of an aluminium tray, and it proved to be a little unstable.
The dog tin however has more stability and I can see the possibility of a garden mobile in the making….. time will tell.
