Aloha,
I'm Noah, (they/them). I'm a genderqueer artist and ceremonialist based on Dja Dja Wurrung Country (Castlemaine, VIC)

Soul Nest is the coming together of all of my offerings. Spiritual Hawaiian Lomilomi, Marriage and Funeral Celebrancy and Sacred Song and words.

Doing some study to anchor in all the new tools I learned during the 3 week Lomilomi Intenseive in Hawaii.

Approaching my session with the same care and Aloha that I always have but upgraded with a new understanding of specific therapeutic movements to support the body to come back into alignment at the level of the bones.

I've been gifted powerful Hawaiian healing chants, that carry their own medicine and a deeper trust in my intuition and ability to listen to the body.

Super excited to be back in Australia and in service to this incredible work.

There is a deeply peaceful quality post lomilomi massage, one that requires no words, no thoughts no feelings.

This precious space, before you step back into the world and on with your day. It is a moment for you to simply be, with.

Be with yourself, be with your body, be with the beauty of Aloha.

Having recieved alot of bodywork in my time, something I value is having some time to gather myself after a session. To rest into everything that is moving, that has moved.

I always schedule in 15 minutes before and after a Spiritual Hawaiian Lomilomi Massage for you to do just that.

Last week I assisted on a Spiritual Hawaiian Lomilomi Massage course recently with my wonderful teacher Charlie Snow from The Blisstitute of Living Aloha. It was a profound week full of teachings, if I could take away only one, it would be this.

Creating a safe space for someone to receive is THE most important piece.

When the receiver feels safe they can rest, heal, let go, and receive.

The words 'Safe Space' get thrown around a lot, and we can’t simply say to someone 'this is a safe space”

It won’t be true for everyone. Feeling safe is personal and unique to each individual.

To share how I create a safe space in my Spiritual Hawaiian Lomilomi Practice let me take you back to 4th grade for an acrostic exploration of the word safety.

SAFETY

Space

The space I work from is important to me. I have always worked from home is quiet residential areas. The room is always warm, clean, and free of visual clutter so the receiver can relax and receive. I consider folks' sensitivities. I avoid using chemicals or smells (essential oils) or smudge (burning herbs to clear space). I keep the lights low and check in with my receivers about their music and sound preferences.

Assumptions/Adaptability

I will never make assumptions about your body, your gender, your body parts, or your abilities. I use gender-neutral terms so that all bodies know they are welcome.

I will adapt to you. If you need a bolster under your ankles or knees, that’s cool. If you need to lie on your back for the whole time, it’s ok. If you are adjusting yourself to make your body more comfortable during the session, no worries. Or if you need to leave items of clothing on or there are areas of your body that you are not comfortable with me touching, no skin off my nose. I will adapt, and I will work with you to figure out how you can receive in a way that is comfortable and accessible to you.

Focus

E Pili Mai (be here now) to be in the present moment with you. Lomilomi is about intuitively listening to the body with presence and intuition. Let's be honest focus isn't the perfect word but its the closest to presence and we are working with what we've got.

I focus on the receiver's individual needs. When I get in my head (which I 100 percent do sometimes) I have tools to guide myself back, I call on Akua (spirit) and the Kapuna (ancestors) to keep me focused.

Expectations

Let them go. We never know what will unfold in a Spiritual Hawaiian Lomilomi Session. We work with the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies, and as much as I can I deepen into trust and let go of expectations creating space for Aloha (unconditional love) to flow through.

Trauma-informed

I am not afraid of big feelings and I know how to identify disassociation and support people back into their bodies. As someone who has experienced CPTSD I understand how scary it is. I will never claim to heal your trauma, and at the same time, I will gently support you to feel safe in your body again.

You

Ultimately the session is about you. About bringing your body, heart, and mind into a state of Aloha (unconditional love) I commit to listening to you, being present with your body, and creating a safe space. I encourage you to let me know if you have any special needs/requests for the session and celebrate questions, concerns, and feedback.

I AM A LOVE REBEL.

In a world so consumed by technology I carve out an intimate and oh-so-human space of care and attention.

(I wrote a whole post on co-regulation and the benefits of having regular lomilomi because...good things happen, but then I wrote the words LOVE REBEL, and all of a sudden I'm not so interested in the nervous system)

Spiritual Hawaiian Lomilomi is PHYSICAL.

I often speak about the energetics but today it's all about the flesh, blood and bones of it.

Lomilomi is a whole-body modality, we treat the body as a whole with long flowing strokes that seemingly never end.

Essentially, I become an octopus for 90 minutes.

I use my palms, forearms, elbows, and shoulders.

Delicious strokes under the body use the body's weight as leverage to get deeper into the muscles. Limbs hang over my legs to access deeper stretches, and when it's needed I go deep into the muscle tissue to release tension and stagnation.

Massage supports blood flow, keeps tissues supple, helps open joints, and clears physical blockages.

Also, I'm heaps buff (as you can see in this excellent photo of me after a Lomilomi with my wild hair and sweat-soaked body), I use my buffness not only to look cool and protect myself in dark alleyways but to get into muscles that need deep tissue work.

Lomilomi is profoundly grounding, as a whole-body modality every part of you will be kneaded, stretched, held, and nurtured.

Many people report feeling "in their body" after periods of dissociation.

It's good to remember you have a body, to trust it, and feel safe in it.

People come to Spiritual Hawaiian Lomilomi Massage for so many reasons.

Fundamentally, I believe most people come to be held.

To be held by the powerful lineage of ancestors supporting this ancient healing practice.

To be held in their grief, confusion, stagnancy, expansion.

To be held in unconditional love.

To be held by my epic, comfortable and sturdy AF table.

To be held.

I practice a dying art. To simply love people as they are, to open the body to possibility, to support people to soften and let go.

In a time where busyness is rife, technology reins supreme and hardly anyone can sit down for 5 minutes without scrolling or being swamped with guilt, allowing yourself to be held is a revolutionary act.
