Today, on Glioblastoma Awareness Day, we recognise those impacted by glioblastoma (GBM), one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer.

A glioblastoma diagnosis can be life-changing, underscoring the importance of ongoing research, innovation and access to expert care.

At 5D Clinics, we provide highly specialised stereotactic radiotherapy and radiosurgery for selected brain tumours using advanced CyberKnife® technology, delivered by an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Globally, CyberKnife® has been used to treat selected cases of new and recurrent GBM, delivering highly precise radiation to tumours while minimising damage to surrounding healthy brain tissue.

We honour the strength of those affected by glioblastoma and acknowledge the clinicians, researchers and advocates working towards better outcomes for patients.

This Rare Cancers Awareness Day, we’re raising awareness of rare and less common cancers, because they’re more common than you might think.

Did you know:
• Every 12 minutes, someone in Australia is diagnosed with a rare or less common cancer
• That’s around 120 people every day
• More than 42,000 Australians are diagnosed each year
• Around 1 in 4 cancer diagnoses are considered rare or less common

At 5D Clinics, we utilise CyberKnife® technology to provide targeted, non-invasive treatment for selected rare cancers, including brain, spine, pancreatic, liver and oligometastatic disease.

As Men’s Health Week comes to a close, we’d like to share a recent article published by Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

Written by 5D Clinics Victorian Clinical Lead, Professor Shankar Siva, the article explores how stereotactic radiation technology like CyberKnife is helping to advance prostate cancer treatment.

For men diagnosed with prostate cancer, this approach precisely targets areas where the cancer has spread while sparing healthy tissue, helping to reduce the risk of side effects.

On World Kidney Cancer Day, we’d like to highlight research led by one of our 5D Clinics Radiation Oncologists, Professor Shankar Siva, which has shown encouraging early results for kidney cancer treated with SABR (Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy), a highly precise form of radiotherapy.

Each year, nearly 5,000 Australians are diagnosed with kidney cancer. SABR delivers high doses of radiation directly to the tumour with sub-millimetre accuracy, helping to protect surrounding healthy tissue. At 5D Clinics, this treatment can be delivered using CyberKnife with Synchrony, a robotic system with real-time motion synchronisation technology designed to track tumours in real time and adjust for movement during treatment

With treatment delivered in as few as one to five sessions and generally low rates of side effects, SABR may offer an alternative for patients who are not suited to surgery, recurrence post-surgery or thermal ablation and oligometastatic kidney lesions.

This Brain Cancer Awareness Month, we’re highlighting the precision behind our CyberKnife technology.

CyberKnife can be used to treat complex neurosurgical cases with sub‑millimetre accuracy using its fully robotic arm. This high‑precision technology helps spare healthy brain tissue involved in important functions such as motor control, sensation, hearing and vision.
