✨ Equipment Spotlight: The Standing Frame ✨

A standing frame is a supportive piece of equipment that helps children achieve and maintain an upright standing position, even if they are not yet able to stand independently. 💙

It is commonly used for children with cerebral palsy, hypotonia, and other neuromuscular conditions.

Why does standing matter? 🌟

✅ Supports bone density and joint development
✅ Assists bowel and bladder function
✅ Improves head, trunk, and shoulder control
✅ Creates new opportunities for play, learning, and social participation

Every standing frame program is tailored to the individual child. A paediatric physiotherapist assesses suitability, sets up optimal positioning, prescribes the right dosage, and monitors progress over time. 👣

🦴 DDH in babies — one of the most common hip conditions, and one of the most commonly missed.

Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH) affects around 1 in 100 newborns. It occurs when the hip joint hasn't developed properly, causing the ball of the hip to sit loosely, partially out, or fully out of the socket.

✨ The good news? When identified early, many cases respond very well to non-surgical treatment.

At FSTS Paediatric Physiotherapy, we can assess your child's movement, provide hip-healthy positioning advice, and work alongside your GP or paediatrician to support early intervention and healthy development. 💙
