Supporting Healthcare Beyond Our Borders

At Monash House Private Hospital, we are proud to support initiatives that extend the reach of healthcare beyond our local community.

Recently, we were pleased to contribute consumables and clinical support to the AHHA - Australian Health Humanitarian Aid mission, helping to improve access to essential healthcare services for communities with limited access to specialist care.

We are especially proud of our Nurse Unit Manager, Angela Driscoll-smith, who generously volunteered her time and expertise as part of the mission team. Angela scrubbed in to assist with surgical procedures and worked alongside fellow healthcare professionals to help deliver much-needed care to patients in need.

AHHA's work is a powerful reminder of the impact healthcare professionals can make when they share their skills and knowledge beyond their usual workplace. Their commitment to improving health outcomes and supporting underserved communities is truly inspiring.

Thank you to Angela and the entire AHHA team for their compassion, dedication, and service. We are honoured to support work that makes a meaningful difference and reflects the values of care, collaboration, and community that are central to who we are at Monash House Private Hospital.

At Monash House Private Hospital, we are committed to supporting initiatives that extend the impact of healthcare beyond the walls of our hospital and into the broader community.

Working Together to Improve Lives Through Healthcare

We are proud to have supported the Australasian Health & Humanitarian Aid (AHHA) mission to Cambodia through the donation of consumables, helping deliver vital eye care services and equipment to those in need.

More than $500,000 worth of ophthalmic equipment was donated by hospitals, specialists, and industry partners across Australia, creating a lasting resource for patients and healthcare teams at Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital.

A huge congratulations to AHHA and all organisations involved in this incredible initiative. Together, we can help strengthen healthcare systems and improve lives through the power of collaboration and generosity.

Day surgery works best when the environment is built around focus, flow and efficiency. For VMOs, this means access to a hospital setting where theatre scheduling, admission pathways, recovery processes and clinical support are aligned with the needs of procedural care, not competing with the demands of a larger multi-service facility.

Monash House Private Hospital is purpose-aligned for specialist surgical care, supporting efficient day procedures with flexible theatre access, a consistent nursing team and operational structures designed to help surgeons work with confidence.

For many patients, the pathway to gynaecological surgery begins with a trusted GP.

When referral patterns are clear, timely and specialist-led, patients can move from assessment to treatment with greater confidence and continuity. This is especially important for symptoms or conditions that may require further investigation, procedural care or planned surgical management.

At Monash House Private Hospital, we support VMOs and referring GPs through a collaborative private hospital environment, helping create smoother transitions from referral to specialist care and, where appropriate, theatre access.

For gynaecologists seeking a responsive hospital partner, Monash House offers the setting, team and support to help care pathways work well for both referrers and patients.

Not all persistent spinal pain has the same underlying cause. Identifying the source of pain is an important step in determining the most appropriate management pathway.

Radiofrequency Neurotomy (RFN) is an image-guided interventional procedure that may be considered for patients with facet joint pain following comprehensive clinical assessment and positive diagnostic nerve blocks. By targeting specific nerves responsible for transmitting pain signals, the procedure forms part of an evidence-informed approach to managing selected spinal pain conditions.

At Monash House Private Hospital, our Interventional Pain Medicine Doctors undertake a thorough assessment to determine whether interventional procedures such as Radiofrequency Neurotomy are appropriate for an individual patient's clinical presentation. Treatment decisions are made within a broader multidisciplinary framework and in collaboration with referring healthcare professionals.

During National Pain Week, an initiative of Chronic Pain Australia, we recognise the value of accurate diagnosis, appropriate patient selection and collaborative care in supporting people living with persistent pain.

Persistent pain affecting the head, neck, face or upper limb can present significant clinical challenges and often requires careful assessment to determine the most appropriate management approach.

A Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) is an image-guided interventional procedure used in appropriately selected patients as part of the assessment and management of complex pain conditions involving the sympathetic nervous system. In some cases, it can be a supportive treatment option for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

At Monash House Private Hospital, Stellate Ganglion Blocks are performed by experienced Interventional Pain Medicine Doctors using image guidance as part of an individualised, evidence-informed treatment approach. The procedure is considered following comprehensive clinical assessment and where clinically appropriate.

As with all interventional pain procedures, patient selection and multidisciplinary management remain central to achieving the most appropriate care pathway.

During National Pain Week, an initiative of Chronic Pain Australia, we recognise the importance of increasing awareness of the range of evidence-informed treatment options available for people living with persistent pain.
