Here's a brain hack therapists use when someone is completely stuck.

It's called the Miracle Question.

"Imagine you woke up tomorrow and the problem was gone. You don't know how. It just was. What would be the first thing you noticed?"

That's it. That's the whole thing.

And something strange happens when you sit with it. Your brain stops defending the problem and starts scanning for the solution. It bypasses the part of your mind that keeps you looping and goes looking for evidence that change is possible.

You already have more answers than you think. You just need the right question to surface them.

That's what the 7-Day Miracle Series is built on — a clinical counsellor walking you through the exact techniques used in real therapy sessions, one day at a time.

Free. No signup. Just put your earphones in.

One thing that actually helps when you're feeling stuck: ask yourself a better question.

Not "what's wrong with me?" — but "what's one small thing that used to help, that I've stopped doing?"

That's a Solution-Focused question. Instead of pulling apart the problem, it points you toward what already works for you. It's a technique used in counselling, but you can use it right now, on your own.

Jordan tried it. His answer was embarrassingly simple: he used to take a 10-minute walk after dinner. He stopped when things got busy. He started again last Tuesday.

Small things are still things.

The free 7-Day Miracle Series walks through questions like this — one a day, easy enough to listen on a walk or a spare moment: https://www.recoverlifecounselling.com.au/podcastoverview

You didn't open your phone to feel worse.

But here you are.

Doom scrolling isn't a willpower problem. It's a nervous system stuck in survival mode — feeding on noise because it hasn't found anything real to hold onto.

That's what the 7-Day Miracle Series is for.

It's a free podcast overview built on actual clinical therapy techniques. No hype, no 10-step programs, no life coach energy. Just a counsellor cutting through the static with tools that actually work.

Seven days. Free. No signup.

Jordan told his wife he was fine. He told his boss he was fine. He even told himself he was fine — every single morning, on the drive to work, radio off, coffee going cold in the cupholder.

But fine isn't the same as okay. And okay isn't the same as good.

If you've been running on "fine" for a while now, you don't need to have a breakdown to deserve support. You just need one honest moment. One small step.

That's where it starts.

If this resonates, the free 7-Day Miracle Series is worth a listen on your next commute — one short session a day, at your own pace: https://www.recoverlifecounselling.com.au/podcastoverview

Ever lie awake at night with your brain running through a mental to-do list that just won't stop?

Work emails. Bills. The grocery run you keep forgetting. It loops and loops, keeping you wired when all you want is to rest.

There's actually a name for this. Psychologists call it the Zeigarnik effect — the tendency for unfinished tasks to occupy your mind far more than completed ones. Your brain is essentially doing its job, holding those open loops open so you don't forget them.

Here's the part that surprised a lot of people when researchers first discovered it: you don't have to finish the task to get relief.

You just need a plan.

Studies show that simply writing down what you need to do — even a rough outline of when and how you'll handle it — is enough to signal to your brain that the loop is closed. The tasks don't disappear, but the mental noise does. Your mind can finally let go.

A notepad on the bedside table might be one of the most underrated sleep tools around.

If racing thoughts are keeping you up, try this tonight: spend five minutes writing out what's on your mind and one small step for each. Nothing elaborate. Just enough to tell your brain "I've got this handled."

Has this ever worked for you, or is your mind still finding new ways to keep you awake? :)

If you’re scrolling through this feed right now just to avoid that heavy knot of anxiety about tomorrow morning, I get it.

When we feel stuck or overwhelmed, our brain builds a "problem loop" that makes the next day feel exhausting before it even begins.

But here is the truth: You don't have to fix your entire life today. You just need a cognitive circuit breaker.

I’m Michael Anderson, a Clinical Counsellor, and I’ve taken the most powerful tool I use with my private clients and turned it into a 100% free, private audio series called Unstuck in 7 Days.

There are no complicated portals to log into. There are no heavy worksheets to fill out. It’s just a pocket-sized circuit breaker designed to help you clear the noise and find your next small step.
