This is too good not to share!
Thank you for this beautiful and very encouraging visuals from Growth by Visuals!
Growth doesn't always look the way we expect.
As parents, therapists, educators and carers, it's so easy to focus on the milestones or progress we can see. However, some of the most important progress ia happening beneath the surface.
💖 A child who is learning to regulate their emotions.
💖 A child who is trying again and again after getting something wrong.
💖 A child who says one more word, makes one more attempt, or simply keeps showing up.
💖 A child who makes eye contact for the first time.
These are all signs of growth. 😍
I had a client who had difficulty rhyming at 7 years old. For months, we kept working on it, but he just couldn't do it. Then one day, he finally did! Then he finally read! Then he finally spelled! 💜
Sometimes growth looks like blossoming. Sometimes it looks like taking bigger steps. And sometimes it looks like growing stronger roots before anything changes on the outside.
The same is true for us as adults.
There are times where we feel like we're running in place, when in reality we're building resilience, confidence, patience, and strength that others can't yet see but will be more valuable in life and in the future.
What has growth looked like in your life recently? Sometimes it's the smallest steps that end up making the biggest difference. We'd love to hear your story. 💜
