Here is a snippet of what we achieved today, Complete Nursing and Home Care QLD had the absolute pleasure hosting at Barcella Cafe, Bar & Dining a luncheon in support of 36 incredible Special Olympics Redlands athletes who have been selected to represent Special Olympics Queensland at the National Games in Melbourne this October.

The afternoon was a celebration of love, support, hard work, determination, resilience, and local community spirit. Not too mention, excellent food, location and weather!

Also a special thanks to The Ironing Maidens for the fun filled entertainment and laughter.

On behalf of CNHC QLD, a heartfelt thank you to the local businesses, Redlands Special Olympics Athelete Leaders, community representatives, councillors, Local MP, volunteers, friends and family who joined us today. Your presence and support demonstrate the incredible strength of our community and the shared commitment to inclusion and opportunity for all.

To our athletes – we are so proud of everything you have achieved and cannot wait to cheer you on at the National Games in Melbourne, your an inspiration to us all.

We are excited to announce that our Silent Auction will be taking place at the upcoming fundraiser event, on Friday 19th June 2026, at Barcella Restaurant, Victoria Point.

Please see attached an incredible range of prizes generously donated by local businesses and supporters 🍀🎁

To make things easy, Silent Auction tickets can be purchased before the event by a Direct Deposit, all you need to do is email me at [email protected] with how many tickets you would like to purchase, the number prize or prizes you would like your tickets entered into and I can send you the bank details including a reference number.

This allows you to be a part of this special fundraising event and even if you are unable to attend you are still able to support.

Tickets will also be available for purchase on the day via:

Special Olympics 2026

On Monday 4th May 2026 at Birkdale IGA, we supported a BBQ fundraising event to raise funds for 36 athletes to trave to the National Games to be held in Melbourne in October 2026, with a wonderful tally of $1207.25. Ange was lucky enough to spend valuable time working and talking with both Dylan and Saara and hear how excited and proud they were to represent the Redlands Community.

Dylan, pictured below (2nd row on right) has represented Australia at the Virtus World Swimming Championships in Bangkok. He came home with the silver in U18 50m Free Stroke and Gold (U18 World Champion) 50 m Back Stroke. He has also broken 3 National records at the Australian MC Age Championships and is excited to be heading to Nationals October 2025.

Colourful creations at Cleveland 🌈

Last month, our Cleveland participants enjoyed a fun and colourful tie-dye activity together! Everyone got creative designing their own pieces, and the finished results turned out amazing. It was a fantastic opportunity for participants to express themselves, socialise, and have fun together.

Deb's Beautiful Creations 💐

At our Nerang office, we are lucky to have many special participants, and one of those is the lovely Deborah Tschji. Deb has been a valued part of the CNHC QLD family since 2023 and brings so much warmth, kindness, and positivity to everyone around her.

Deb lives with her husband and son, who are also participants with us, and she is always grateful and appreciative of the support and connections she receives through CNHC QLD. Her cheerful and caring heart make her a joy to be around.
One of Deb’s greatest passions is knitting, and over the past few years she has dedicated countless hours to creating beautiful handmade beanies for both staff and participants. With an incredible talent and a big heart, Deb can knit up to 12 beanies a day in a wonderful variety of colours and styles.

Deb proudly says, “No one should get sick now with all my beanies!” - andwe certainly agree. Her generosity, thoughtfulness, and pride in giving back to others shines through every single stitch.

The beanies have become something truly special within our CNHC QLD community, brining warmth, comfort, and plenty of smiles each year. We are so grateful for Deb’s kindness and the joy she spreads so freely to everyone around her.

Portrait Update 🎨

We’re excited to share an update on our special creative collaboration with Artist Gavin Brown! This artwork is a celebration of the amazing people who make the CNHC QLD community so unique and vibrant. Renata recently visited Gavin at his studio, where he is hard at work bringing our portrait to life with incredible detail and creativity. The project is coming together beautifully, and we can’t wait to see the finished masterpiece. it has been wonderful to see this creative vision come together and reflect the heart of our community.
