Dear Patients,
Kidney Action Week is coming up from August 10–17, and this year’s message is bold and simple: it’s time to "Take the P**s"!
Did you know that 77% of people at risk of chronic kidney disease have not had a urine test in the last two years? Early kidney disease often has zero symptoms, but a simple urine test (uACR) alongside a routine check-up can detect issues early when they are most treatable, especially if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart conditions, or a family history of kidney health issues. Show your kidneys some love and stay ahead of your health. Call our reception team today to book your routine Kidney Health Check with your doctor now! A standard appointment with your GP is all that is required. You can contact the clinic or book via https://www.hotdoc.com.au/medical-centres/cobram-VIC-3644/mivo-park-medical-clinic/doctors

It’s RSV Awareness Week. This week we are highlighting that RSV (or respiratory syncytial virus) is not just a childhood virus.
For some older people, RSV can lead to pneumonia and the worsening of existing health conditions,
resulting in hospital admissions and a sudden decline in health.
The good news is that free RSV vaccination is now available through the National Immunisation Program for adults aged 75 years and over, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 60 years and over.
People who are not eligible for the free program may still be able to access RSV vaccination on private
prescription. This includes adults aged over 60, and adults aged over 50 with medical conditions that increase their risk of severe RSV.
This RSV Awareness Week, speak with your doctor.
Don’t go unprotected.
