🚨 AusAlert is Testing – Australia's New National Emergency Warning System 🇦🇺

Today at 2pm marks the national test of AusAlert, Australia's new emergency warning system.

If you receive a loud alert on your phone today, don't panic – it's only a test.

📱 AusAlert uses cell broadcast technology to send emergency warnings directly to compatible mobile devices in affected areas. Unlike SMS alerts, messages are delivered almost instantly to everyone in the warning zone, without needing your phone number.

You may receive alerts for emergencies including:
🔥 Bushfires
🌊 Floods
🌀 Cyclones
🌊 Tsunamis
⚠️ Major public safety incidents
🚑 Other significant emergencies

When you receive a real AusAlert message:
✅ Read the warning carefully.
✅ Follow the instructions immediately.
✅ Share important information with family, friends and neighbours who may need assistance.
