We’re looking for a highly organised, proactive and values-driven Program Support Officer to provide administrative and operational support across MCWH’s Health Education Program.⁠

This full-time role supports the smooth delivery of health education programs — coordinating bookings, Bilingual Health Educators, program records, attendance, evaluations, payroll and stakeholder communication, while helping improve systems and processes across the organisation.⁠

✨ SCHCADS Award Level 5, pay point 1–3⁠ depending on experience

Bias in healthcare is rarely experienced in isolation.

Our new research found that migrant and refugee women's experiences of gender bias were consistently shaped by other forms of discrimination, including racism, migration discrimination, ageism, ableism, language barriers and systemic barriers to accessing care.

These experiences affected not only women's health and wellbeing, but also their families and communities. At the same time, participants shared examples of healthcare that made them feel respected, heard and included, highlighting practical ways to reduce bias and improve care.

We were proud to take part in the HealthEd Women's Health seminars in Perth and Adelaide, presenting to hundreds of GPs on FGM/C in Australia.

Across both events, almost 1,900 healthcare professionals attended, and MCWH was the only multicultural organisation with a dedicated focus on migrant and refugee women and gender-diverse people.

It was a fantastic opportunity to share knowledge, connect with health professionals and champion culturally safe, equitable healthcare.

It was a privilege to be part of the Daughters of the West 10-week health and wellbeing program, delivered by the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation, and to celebrate participants at the recent graduation event held at Dianella Community Centre in Tarneit.

The program supports women to improve their health, wellbeing and social connection through a range of educational workshops, physical activity sessions and opportunities to build community.

As part of the program, MCWH delivered three health education sessions covering breast screening, healthy relationships and cervical screening. These sessions aimed to support women with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

Congratulations to all the participants who completed the program, and thank you to the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation and our fellow program partners for making this initiative possible.
