I saw a reel about boy mums and the comments were basically thousands of women collectively screaming “THANK YOU, SOMEONE FINALLY SAID IT.”

And while I absolutely relate to living with negative downtime and wondering why walking from the kitchen to the bathroom apparently requires parkour… I kept thinking about the other side of it.

Being their mum is so much fu***ng fun.

These boys have brought parts of me back that adult life had slowly made far too sensible. I play more. I’m sillier. I get dirty. I get in the water. I care less about looking like an idiot. I laugh a LOT.

And at the same time, I get this enormous privilege of raising two little boys into men.

I get to show them that strength and softness can live in the same body. That they can cry, communicate, cook, care, love hard, back themselves and respect the people around them.

Will I also spend the foreseeable future yelling “PLEASE THINK ABOUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER YOU JUMP”?

Absolutely, and fk I love this gig.

Boy mums — tell me the BEST thing your boys have brought out in you? 👇

I don’t know who needs to hear this…but maybe it isn’t about the jeans…

I heard someone say that your wardrobe is a time-lapse of every version of yourself you’ve ever been. Woah.

I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I over thought it really 🤣 Every dress. Every pair of jeans. Every oversized jumper. Every jacket.

They all belonged to a different version of me The woman before babies.
The woman who was surviving.
The woman building a business.
The woman who forgot she mattered for a while, the woman who’s slowly finding herself again.

Then it hit me… farrrrk…

Maybe when we say we’ve got nothing to wear…what we’re really saying is…I’m trying to fit into a version of myself I’ve already outgrown.

I’ve been looking after myself a lot lately.
Not because I want my old body back.
Not because I miss who I used to be.

I’m moving because I want to be strong enough to keep up with my boys.

I’m supporting my hormones because I want more energy.

I’m looking after my metabolism because I want to build a body that carries me through the next twenty years, not just the next twenty days.

I’m healing because I finally realised…I don’t actually want to go backwards.

Every version of me got me here….
The woman who vomited through pregnancy.
The woman who breastfed.
The woman who put everyone else first.
The woman who built a business while wondering if she had anything left to give.

She doesn’t need me to become her again she needs me to see and thank her. Maybe that’s what healing really looks like.

Not squeezing yourself back into old jeans.
Not chasing old photos.
Not trying to recreate a season that has already done its job.

Your bathroom scales can tell you what you weigh.
Your wardrobe can tell you what you’re still carrying.

Maybe healing is making room for the woman you’ve never been before and I reckon she’s going to look bloody good in a new pair of jeans.

❤️ If this landed, send it to the woman who’s still waiting until “one day.” Maybe today is the day she stops waiting.

I thought the funniest part of this story was that I went out to dinner with an entire shirt stuffed down the back of my bra.

Turns out…that wasn’t the story.
The story was that I didn’t notice.

Somewhere between breastfeeding, homeschooling, business, life and looking after everyone else, oversized clothes stopped being something I wore and started becoming somewhere I hid.

Not because I hated my body,
but because they became familiar.
Safe, easy and habits are funny like that.

We keep doing them long after we’ve forgotten why we started and it got me thinking…
How many other things am I carrying simply because they’ve become normal?

The mental load.
The exhaustion.
Putting myself last.

Ignoring little signs from my body assuming feeling “average” is just part of being a busy woman. 🫣

It doesn’t have to be.

That’s exactly why we’ve created The Transform Challenge.

Over four weeks we’re unpacking hormones, metabolism and the mental load with health and wellness professionals who actually know their stuff.

Not because we’re chasing perfection.
Not because anyone needs fixing.

Because when you understand what’s actually happening in your body, you stop fighting it and that’s where everything starts to change.

If you’ve been carrying more than you should for longer than you can remember…

Comment TRANSFORM and I’ll send you the details.

Also… please tell me I’m not the only person who’s accidentally worn something completely ridiculous in public I need to know!???

Turns out my biggest business mentor was a complete dckhead…

Look it wasn’t one person. It was every wrong hire, every partnership that didn’t happen.
Every coach who told me there was only one way.
Every staff member who swore they’d treat the business like it was their own.

Spoiler…They didn’t.
For a long time I took that personally.

I wanted to be the supportive boss. The flexible boss. The one who created opportunities, paid for courses and genuinely wanted people to build amazing lives.
I still do.

The difference is… I don’t sacrifice my own boundaries health and sanity to do it anymore.

One of the biggest shifts I ever made was realising nobody will ever love your business the way you do.

And thank fk.
Imagine if they did… we’d have a whole different problem. 😂

So here’s what became non-negotiable.

1. Trust the nudge.
Every expensive lesson started with me ignoring my intuition because I wanted to be nice. I don’t do that anymore.

2. Regulate before you react.
I don’t make big decisions when I’m stressed, emotional or trying to keep everyone happy.

3. Invest in yourself first.
Therapy. Mentors. The right rooms. They’ve all made me a better leader.

4. Use the bloody tools.
If Human Design helps me make decisions, I use it. If oils help me regulate, I use them. If movement clears my head, I move.

5. Stop expecting other people to carry your vision.
Lead people well. Care deeply. Build a great culture. But protecting the vision is still your job.

Business hasn’t taught me marketing nearly as much as it’s taught me boundaries, self-trust and emotional regulation.

The biggest asset in my business has never been another strategy, it’s been the woman making the decisions, the one in the mirror.

What’s the business lesson that cost you the most?- Mine was investing in the wrong hire with time energy and $$ and trusting another woman to cover my maternity leave who pulled out get close to go time. Unprofessional to say the least highly pricey in energy also.

If you’re done second-guessing yourself and want to lead your business with more confidence and less noise, DM me TRUST. That’s exactly what we work on in my 1:1 Business by Design sessions.

This is going to sound a bit weird…

But I’ve never actually admitted this out loud.
I’ve wanted to homeschool my boys for years.
Not because I thought I’d be some incredible homeschool mum. 😂 If you’ve seen me trying to explain maths, you’ll know that’s debatable.

I just wanted more of them.

More slow mornings. More random conversations. More ordinary Tuesdays. More time while they’re still little.

The problem was… our life back then just couldn’t hold that dream.

Between the studio, Oomp’s building business and the life we’d built in Victoria, it felt like one of those things you quietly file under “Wouldn’t that be nice…” before getting on with real life.

So I stopped talking about it.

Then life got… nudgy.

Not in a magical, “the universe sent me a sign” kind of way. 😂 Just that annoying feeling that kept saying, “I reckon there’s another way.”

So we followed it.Not perfectly. Not fearlessly. Just one step at a time.

Looking back now, I don’t think we were just making a change I think we were creating opportunities we couldn’t even imagine yet.

Now we both still work. We both work bloody hard. We haven’t escaped work—we’ve just built businesses that give us more choice over how our days look.

And somehow, the dream I’d quietly packed away has become our normal.

I get to learn alongside my boys. We chase crabs on a Tuesday morning, disappear down rabbit holes because someone asked a brilliant question, and have the kind of conversations that don’t happen when everyone’s rushing out the door.

If you’d told me a few years ago this would be our life, I would’ve laughed.

Not because I didn’t want it…but I couldn’t see how it could ever be possible.

Turns out the best opportunities in our life weren’t planned, they were waiting on the other side of one little nudge.

If you’re homeschooling around the Gold Coast or Northern Rivers, where are you? I’d genuinely love to meet more of my people. Send me a DM. 🤍
