On the daily I sit across from people who don’t acknowledge the big stuff they’ve created, achieved or outcome in their lives. Those people are generally always lacking their own self worth or have people pleaser tendencies or are chasing external validation.
The people who sit across from me, looking for help or guidance are mostly always really good people who haven’t ever sat long enough to understand how awesome they actually are. We start to understand this fully by working through the list of s**t we’ve survived, worked through or let go of. Like actually, pen to paper - write that stuff down and give yourself the credit. Life’s hard but, how we manage through it is where we find deep joy, excitement and contentment.
Acknowledge your wins. Sometimes a win can simply be not having contact with certain people, letting go of standards that aren’t yours, creating boundaries, eating a decent meal, sleeping through the night, breaking generational norms- whatever you feel like a win is to you. Ok, so do that, legends.
Then, those buggers who go out of their way to hurt others or gain things in life knowing it’s enviably harmful to others. These guys suck. They generally have a false sense of self, try to put themselves in places of superiority but are riddled with insecurities and have no self awareness. They feel icky to be around, we all know people like that. Big bravado but all puff and wind. They’ll never end up in a therapy chair, cause it’s never about them. They run from accountability.
What we do with them is set a firm boundary around them, protect yourself and your energy, put them at arms length.
Legends, you guys keep being legends. You other lot…
