29 years ago today…

On 31 August 1997, the world woke to the devastating news that Princess Diana had died.

It was a moment of shock and disbelief — followed by a huge outpouring of grief.

Millions of people around the world mourned someone they had watched, admired and felt they somehow knew.

Many of us can still remember exactly where we were and what we were doing when we heard the news.

Flowers appeared outside palaces, churches and homes. People stood together in silence. Strangers shared their sadness, united by a loss that felt deeply personal.

Nearly three decades later, Diana’s death remains one of those moments that reminds us how powerful grief can be — and how a death can touch people far beyond those who actually knew the person.
