Could you and your household manage for the first 72 hours after an emergency?

Council is hosting a free First 72 Hours community preparedness program to help residents understand what to do before, during and after an emergency.

First 72 Hours is an initiative designed to educate communities about emergency preparedness.

Learn how to prepare an emergency plan, understand your role during an emergency, and build the skills and confidence to look after yourself and your household in an emergency such as a bushfire or flood.

Sessions start in Walwa on Wednesday 16 September before visiting Granya, Bethanga, Tallandoon, Lucyvale, Towong, Tallangatta Valley, Tallangatta, Corryong and Biggara.

GOOD FRIDAY APPEAL | 2026 UPPER MURRAY FINAL TALLY 💚💜

This year, we had a goal- if our community could raise just over $16k today we would hit an amazing milestone.

Today, our final tally has come in at $25,326.75 ‼️

In our time raising funds for the appeal we as a community have raised over ONE MILLION DOLLARS, in total, for The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne, through Good Friday Appeal.

We have well and truely achieved our goal! 👏🏻

We are so proud of the community that continues to give during some of the most trying times.
As a small population, we have absolutely smashed it, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
