I'm a qualified naturopath, and I'm passionate about bringing you beautiful, pure products inspired by nature and natural therapies. Each product is handmade locally in small batches - just one of the reasons The Purist is so special. Our candles are inspired by natural therapeutics, especially

aromatherapy. We like to use natural products, including our 100% pure & natural professional soy wax, pure essential oils, and 100% lead-free cotton wicks. The fragrances are all based on the beauty of nature’s miracles, including our favourite fruits and flowers. Our glassware is recyclable (hello, cute vase/button storage/sugar pot/cotton bud jar!). Our beautiful, hand-poured and handmade candles all serve a purpose in treating you naturally through aromatherapy blends and techniques. Our naturopathic blend herbal teas are designed to assist in the management of a variety of health conditions, including fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, digestive disorder, and more. We use high quality herbs and herbal medicine techniques to bring you teas that deliver their desired effects whilst tasting delicious. Infuse in hot water and enjoy these incredible herbs as they come to life, and treat you naturally. We love that naturopathy is holistic; all about encouraging a healthy mind, body and spirit. And what's better for all three than a nice cup of tea. The Purist Collection was established in 2013 in Perth, Western Australia.

M Y S K I N J O U R N E Y // When I was 13, I was in year 8 at an all girls' school, had braces, anxiety + depression.

And, to top it all off, I had the beginnings of a really fun acne adventure (YAY!).

By the time I turned 15, it had reached absolute boiling point. I had to do something/anything about my skin, otherwise life was going to be a living hell 😣

I was already embarrassed to leave the house, and wouldn't even let my family see me without a slab of foundation + concealer on - which only made the situation worse.

So, off we went to the doctor...and then to the dermatologist. AKA: over a year of Roaccutane and numerous courses of hectic antibiotics 🤯

Did Roaccutane fix my skin? Yes ✔️ But did it compromise my health? Heck yes! 👎🏼

My dermatologist did warn me of the side effects of Roaccutane: depression, suicidal ideation, extreme sensitivity to sunlight.

And yep. I felt it. In fact, it's only been in the last 18 months that I've been able to go in the sun ☀️ for more than 20 minutes without burning to a crisp...
..and let's just say that age 15 is a whiiiillle back! 😅

As the saying goes, "sometimes it's the journey that teaches you a lot about your destination". My journey certainly ignited my passion for treating skin - whether it's acne that's your arch nemesis, or something else - n a t u r a l l y 🌿

I'm going to be really honest with you: running your own small business is h a r d. There's no two ways about it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Sometimes you want to runaway to faraway places, like Greece (or anywhere, really) and never come back.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

There's a lot of very late (and sometimes very sleepless) nights; there's a never ending to-do list; there's bill after bill, and expense after expense.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

There are copy cats and naysayers; there's getting sick 84,351 times a year because you've gone about 84,351km past the point of exhaustion and kept going.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Then there's the rejection and heartbreak and definitely blood, sweat and tears (and oh god, when I say tears I mean s o o o many tears).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But what do you do when you love what you do? When you're 110% on why you do it? When you're passionate about making a difference to other people's health + happiness?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
