☀️ Not a bad day at the office!

The boys are getting stuck into the kitchen in our new container workshop, while outside the sun is putting on a pretty good show.

Tools out, doors open and plenty of jobs to keep everyone busy.

There are definitely worse places to spend a working day! 🌿

🌿 From empty space to a working Moon Haven workshop!

There’s been a lot happening behind the scenes to get our new space on the farm up and running, and it’s finally starting to look and feel like a proper working workshop.

There are still a few things being finished and shuffled into place, but Moon Haven is well and truly settling in.

🌿 There’s plenty of confusing advice out there about essential oils. Let’s clear some of it up.

Part of understanding aromatherapy is knowing that more isn’t necessarily better. Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts, so a few drops can go a long way.

💧 For using them on the skin, dilution is important. Carrier oils such as jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil and fractionated coconut oil help dilute essential oils so they can be applied more safely and evenly to the skin.

🌸 And aromatherapy isn’t only about what you put on your skin. Our sense of smell is closely connected with areas of the brain involved in emotion and memory, which is one reason scent can have such a noticeable influence on how a space or moment feels.

Aromatherapy can be as simple as choosing an essential oil you enjoy and finding a sensible way to make it part of your day.

A new beginning for Moon Haven 🌿

After all the moving, unpacking and setting up, this feels like a pretty special milestone. Our first full day of soapmaking in the new workshop is done.

There are still a few finishing touches happening around us, but this is the beginning of a whole new chapter for Moon Haven, and we’re so happy to finally be making our soaps in their new home.

We’re looking forward to sharing plenty more from here with you. 💚

When your dog’s skin needs a gentler kind of wash 🐶🌿

Doggy Dip Soap began with stories from customers whose dogs were struggling with itchy, easily upset skin 🐶🌿

We wanted to create something gentle, practical and easy to use, so we brought together neem oil and our oatmeal extract, lovingly known around here as “Oat Gunk”.

The result is a solid shampoo bar made to soothe while leaving the coat clean and shiny. You only need a small amount too. Wet the coat, rub the bar lightly over each area, put it aside, then work up the lather with a little water before rinsing thoroughly.
