There has been great excitement at Ability Network over the last two weeks as we patiently waited for the all-clear to use our newly installed Regulation Swing.

A big thank you must go to Annie Crasti, who got the ball rolling on this project - we did it, Annie! It's up and ready to go.

We would like to acknowledge the grant from The Cowra Bowling Club and thank them for the opportunity to support their Business House Bowls. This would not have been possible without your assistance.

To Owen Mawby and John Marshall, thank you for going above and beyond in the frost to install the swing, and of course, Bossie for being an excellent site supervisor in the background.

This swing will be a vital tool for regulation, relaxation and sensory input. It will assist in improving spatial awareness, agility, balance and coordination.

Next step? We are now working on funding for a weatherproof cover so that the swing can be used year-round.

On Wednesday, 8th July, our participants enjoyed a fantastic day out at the reptile show in Orange, where they had the opportunity to get up close with a variety of incredible reptiles, including lizards and snakes. Everyone loved the hands-on experience, with many participants bravely patting and holding the animals.
The visit provided a fun and engaging way to build confidence, encourage social interaction, and promote active participation within the community. Participants learnt many fascinating facts about the reptiles, including their habitats, behaviours, diets, and the important role they play in our environment.
It was a wonderful day filled with smiles, laughter, learning, and plenty of unforgettable memories. We can't wait for our next adventure!

At the end of May, we closed a chapter of the Ability Network book, with a heartfelt farewell to Annie Crasti. Our Fun Friday had a very special theme: "All About Annie!"
Annie has been a valued part of our team, bringing kindness, compassion, strength, and unwavering support to everyone around her. Her dedication and genuine care for both staff and clients have left a lasting impact that will never be forgotten.
She will be deeply missed, not only for everything she has done, but for the incredible person she is. We are grateful for the memories, support, laughter, and guidance she has shared along the way.
While it’s hard to say goodbye, we are incredibly proud of Annie for putting herself first and beginning a new chapter.
Wishing Annie nothing but happiness, success, and endless opportunities for her future.

🌟 May Highlights So Far at Ability Network 🌟

What a fantastic month it’s been filled with connection, laughter, and meaningful community participation.

Our participants have been out and about enjoying lawn bowls, Ten Pin Bowling, and getting involved in community activities, while also celebrating some very special birthdays 🎉🎂.

Back at the hub, creativity and fun have been in full swing with MasterChef cooking, a thrilling Murder Mystery Night, and hands-on projects in woodwork 🪵.

Our Fun Friday took us to the islands with a vibrant Hawaiian theme, complete with fun games, a beautiful lunch, and plenty of smiles 🌺🌴.

Every day has been packed with fun activities, games, and opportunities to build skills, friendships, and confidence.

And we’re only halfway through the month, there’s more to come! 💙🧡
