Pain on the outside of the hip is often linked to gluteal tendinopathy, a condition affecting the tendons around the hip.

It commonly causes pain when lying on the affected side, walking longer distances, climbing stairs, or standing for extended periods.

While injections and passive treatments may provide short-term relief, long-term improvement usually comes from education, load management, and progressive strengthening. If hip pain is limiting your daily activities, our team can help guide your recovery with an individualised rehabilitation program.

As National Pain Week takes place this week, we want to acknowledge everyone living with persistent or chronic pain.

Pain is real, even when it is invisible to others.

Chronic pain can affect movement, sleep, work, and daily life, and that’s why support needs to be compassionate, and focused on helping people build function, confidence, and quality of life.

Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology can play an important role in supporting people with pain through education, movement, and personalised rehabilitation.

You deserve to feel heard, supported, and understood.

Scoliosis is a condition where the spine develops a sideways curve, most commonly during childhood and adolescence.

Early assessment and regular monitoring can play an important role in managing scoliosis, particularly during periods of rapid growth.

Physiotherapy may help improve posture, strength, mobility and confidence through education and individualised exercise programs, including approaches such as Schroth and SEAS exercises.

If you have concerns about your child’s posture or spinal health, our team is here to help.

Feeling exhausted after standing or exercising? It might not just be “low fitness.”

For people living with POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), everyday activities like standing, showering, or walking can cause dizziness, fatigue, brain fog, and a racing heart.

The good news? Exercise can help—but it needs to be approached differently.

At Physio on Chatswood & NorthHab Physio, we create personalised, evidence-based programs that help you:
✔️ Build exercise tolerance safely
✔️ Improve strength and circulation
✔️ Reduce symptom flare-ups
✔️ Get back to doing the things you love

Vestibular rehabilitation is a specialised form of physiotherapy specifically designed to help with patients with vestibular dysfunction/dizziness. Depending on the patient’s injury and presentation, vestibular physiotherapist will perform various treatment techniques and design a vestibular rehabilitation program.

With BPPV, once it was diagnosed and the specific affected canal was located, your vestibular physiotherapist will be able to perform treatment maneuver specific to the affected canal and type of BPPV, to reposition to displaced otoconia and many patients with BPPV will improve within 1-3 sessions.

With other vestibular conditions, a vestibular rehabilitation program may be prescribed. It could consist of:

Gaze stability exercise – to help train the coordination between your head and eyes

Adaptation exercise – to help your vestibular system and brain to adapt and recalibrate after a vestibular injury

Balance exercise – to help maximise your ability to stay balance, and reduce the risk of falling

If you have a vestibular condition/injury, or you have been experiencing dizziness, vertigo symptoms or having trouble with your balance, contact Northhab physiotherapy and a detailed vestibular assessment could be organised and your vestibular physiotherapist will be able to assist you in your vestibular rehabilitation.
