🍂🍂🍂News from JCAC🍂🍂🍂

As many in our communities know
John Curtin Aged Care Inc. has 19
Independent Living Units within its grounds.
The management of these units is governed
by the Retirement Villages Act (1986)
and auspiced by Consumer Affairs Victoria.

Changes to the Act have been implemented on
May1st this year. At this stage, we have not
resolved how it will affect the current
residents, only that it will and that we are
awaiting clarification from our legal advisors
to enable working through this; it will
be a priority for us.

The detail of the changes is accessible
on the Consumer Affairs website at:
www.consumer.vic.gov.au
and we would encourage all members of
the community considering entering into a
retirement village anywhere in Victoria to
read these changes.

What a lovely outing our residents had yday. We boarded the super busy train! at Creswick Station. Rode it to Maryborough where our own two buses picked us all up for lunch at The Highland, before a bus trip home. All residents had a big smile as they greeted the reception and care staff on a very successful trip. 🚉

It is National Volunteer Week and JCAC is holding our 'Thank you' event this afternoon. We would like to express our gratitude and thanks, not only to our wonderful Volunteers, but to all Volunteers across our communities.
