So magical to see my workshop come to life at Krishna Village. A vision and a dream long held.

Three days immersed in Stress, Trauma & Nervous System Regulation with such a beautiful group of students.

We explored the entire nervous system, the physiology of stress and trauma, symptoms as adaptations, Polyvagal Theory in practice, alongside experiential exercises around interoception and neuroception, hands-on practice, therapeutic touch and learning to listen to the language of the body.

It was such a lovely group to teach — thoughtful, engaged and generous with one another, with a real openness to learning, sharing and practising together. There was so much warmth and connection in the room, and I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful group to share this first workshop with.

My heart is full — there is something special and very dear about sharing this work and seeing it carried forward into the hands and practice of others. It is the gift that keeps on giving.

How We Meet Trauma: Five Practitioners, Five Ways of Working with Body, Mind and Spirit

I’m delighted to be bringing Craniosacral Therapy to Transform Trauma Oxford 2026 this September, joining four fellow practitioners for a multidisciplinary conversation on trauma and healing.

Five practitioners. Five different approaches:

NARM — Maya Vaughan, IFS — , EMDR — . Craniosacral Therapy — Dorine Siccama - CST, Polyvagal-informed dance & movement therapy — Amber Gray

This year’s theme — Science, Spirit and the Body: The Synthesis of Healing — explores the meeting point of evidence, experience and the ineffable, and how different approaches to trauma and healing can inform one another.

I’ll be bringing the Craniosacral Therapy perspective — exploring how trauma is reflected within the body’s physiology, and how anatomically informed therapeutic touch allows us to listen directly to the nervous system, fascia, tissues, fluids and rhythms of the body.

Lizette Villaverde and I will also be teaching our experiential workshop Listening Through the Body, and our wonderful team of Craniosacral Therapists will be offering complimentary 30-minute CST taster sessions throughout the conference.

14–17 September 2026 | Oxford, UK + Online

Conference discount codes: In-person: OX26100 — £100 off & Virtual: OX26VT50 — £50 off

Really looking forward to the conversations, the learning, and bringing Craniosacral Therapy and the language of the body to Oxford.

We are kicking off THIS Friday!

Stress, Trauma & Nervous System Regulation
Krishna Village | Northern NSW

The body is communicating with us all the time.

Through the nervous system.
Through fascia and tissues.
Through fluids, movement and rhythm.
Through tension and release.
Through activation, protection and the physiological signs of safety.

Over three days, we’ll explore how to listen to the physiology of the body — and how skilled therapeutic touch can support the nervous system to move from protective survival states towards greater regulation, safety and connection.

We’ll work with the nervous system, vagus nerve, fascia, tissues, fluids and rhythms through hands-on techniques and embodied practice, while learning to recognise the physiological and biological markers of stress, trauma and regulation.

And we’ll turn that same attention towards ourselves. Our own capacity for embodiment, regulation and presence profoundly influences how we meet and work with another person.

Because trauma is not only held in our story. It leaves an imprint in our physiology.

And when we learn to listen to the language of the body, we can begin to work with what the body is actually communicating.

The name comes from the craniosacral system. This system extends from the cranium (skull), through the spinal canal, to the sacrum—the two ends of the central nervous system.

Within this system, the brain and spinal cord are surrounded by specialised connective tissue membranes (fascia) and bathed in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).CSF cushions and protects the brain and spinal cord, transports nutrients, removes metabolic waste, and provides an essential environment for healthy nervous system function.

For decades, Craniosacral Therapists have understood the continuity of this fluid system. Recent scientific research has now confirmed that cerebrospinal fluid extends into the peripheral nerves—the nerves that branch from the brain and spinal cord to every part of the body—highlighting the interconnected nature of the nervous system, fascia and fluid body.

One of my teachers used to say,”If your fascia is not in good health, you are not in good health.”
Over the years in clinical practice, I’ve come to appreciate the wisdom in that statement.
As Stephen Porges has taught us, safety changes physiology. When the nervous system no longer needs to protect, it can shift towards regulation, restoration and connection. In Craniosacral Therapy, we often observe this reflected throughout the tissues—fascial tension eases, fluid dynamics improve, and the body has greater capacity to reorganise.

Craniosacral Therapy works with this interconnected system—and with the fascia, tissues, fluids and natural rhythms of the whole body—to support nervous system regulation, mobility and the body’s innate capacity to reorganise. It may support people experiencing chronic pain, physical pain, emotional pain, the effects of trauma, adverse life experiences, stress-related conditions and nervous system dysregulation.

Our work extends far beyond the head and the sacrum. Just as you can feel your heartbeat in your wrist, neck or ankle, the craniosacral rhythm—and other deep physiological rhythms—can be perceived throughout the body because the body functions as one interconnected system.

Your nervous system is an integrated network that influences every aspect of your health, wellbeing and resilience.

21–23 August | Krishna Village | Yoga Centre

Join me for a 3-day workshop exploring how stress and trauma are held within the body—and how we can support regulation through precise anatomical touch based on biodynamic craniosacral principles.

Over three days we will explore:
• The Somatic Nervous System
• The Autonomic Nervous System
• The Sympathetic Nervous System
• The Parasympathetic Nervous System
• The Central Nervous System – Brain & Spinal Cord

Together we will learn to listen to the language of the body through:
• Nerves
• Fascia
• Fluid dynamics
• Bones
• Physiological rhythms
• The body’s innate self-organising capacity

No previous experience is required—just a genuine interest in mind–body medicine and supporting your own health, your loved ones, or your professional practice.

Experience what it feels like to be deeply held and truly met.

The lumbar spine and sacrum do far more than provide support and movement.

The lumbar nerves (L1–L5) supply the lower back, abdomen and legs, while the sacral nerves (S1–S5) communicate with the pelvis, bladder, bowel, reproductive organs and much of the lower limbs.

This region is also where mechanical forces, fascia, the nervous system and the body’s protective responses continually interact. When the body experiences injury, stress or trauma, these tissues often adapt long before symptoms appear.

In Craniosacral Therapy, we don’t simply focus on where the pain is.

We learn to listen to the body’s physiology.

We track the nervous system, fascia, movement, fluids and the subtle adaptations the body is making in an attempt to protect itself.

The body is always communicating.

The more deeply we understand its physiology, the more clearly we begin to understand what it is trying to tell us.

The body is designed to function as an integrated whole and its optimal function is through connection not separation.

Every tissue, every fluid, every rhythm and every system is in constant communication with every other system.

A symptom is rarely an isolated event.
It is often the final expression of physiological adaptations that have been unfolding throughout the body long before symptoms appear.

The body has a non-verbal language. It is constantly adapting, protecting, compensating and doing its very best to maintain balance.

In Craniosacral Therapy, we learn to listen differently.

We learn to recognise the body’s physiology as its language—expressed through the nervous system, fascia, fluids, rhythms and the subtle adaptations that are continually unfolding beneath the surface.

As we learn to understand the body’s physiology, we begin to recognise its innate intelligence—the organising life force that continually seeks balance, regulation and repair. Through this understanding, we come to appreciate the inseparable relationship between body, mind and spirit, and our capacity to support the body’s own healing processes.
