🎨🎶🍪 BRUSHES, BEATS & BITES — A Youth Art Experience! 🍪🎶🎨
What better way to celebrate International Youth Day than with creativity, connection, snacks and a whole lot of colour!
Our young artists began by choosing photos for inspiration before exploring colour theory, perspective and composition. They then planned their designs, sketched them onto watercolour paper and brought them to life with gouache paints.
Along the way, they experimented with colour mixing and discovered that sometimes the little “imperfections” are what give artwork its character — there are no straight lines in this art class! 🎨
And of course, no Brushes, Beats & Bites afternoon would be complete without plenty of snacks, music and chats along the way! 🍪🎶
Once the paintings were finished, the final details were added, the tape was peeled away and each artwork was framed, ready to go home.
✨ The best part? Each artist created something completely their own — from the first sketch to the finished framed artwork.
A huge thank you to Stacey for sharing her time and skills, encouraging creativity and helping our young artists discover just how much they can create!
We hope everyone left feeling proud of what they had achieved — and perhaps inspired to pick up a paintbrush again soon. 💛🎨
Brushes, Beats & Bites — creating, connecting and having fun!

Wear It Purple Day aims to raise awareness for issues that affect the young people apart of the LGBTQIA+ community. These issues can be discrimination or mental health challenges. This is why it's important on the day to promote empowerment, inclusivity, community support, and visibility.
This year's theme is “Colours of Courage” which celebrates the many forms of courage shown by LGBT+ young people, allies, and communities every day. Courage comes in many different forms. It could be speaking up, creating change, asking for support, coming out, standing beside someone, along with many other different actions. The colours in this year's theme reflects the diversity of identities, different experiences and stories within our communities.
Wearing purple on the day is a simple way to make the LGBT+ youth feel seen, supported, and valued. Research has even indicated that wearing rainbow accessories can help to make q***r youth feel safe and accepted.
Getting involved on the day can be as simple as wearing something purple, posting something online to show your support, or donating to programs that empower LGBT+ youth. People can also host events surrounding the day, participate in events, listen to ambassadors/speakers, and watch educational videos.

We're currently only available during the school holidays and after school during the term. But as we grow, we hope to expand our services to include evening babysitting too! 🌙
We charge $10 each per hour for Mother's Help and $15 each per hour for babysitting.
We're available to help as a team or individually, depending on your needs.

Know a young person aged 12-25 doing something awesome? Nominate them! Whether they're running a business, starting a side hustle, creating products, offering services or turning an idea into something of their own - we want to hear about them!
Let's shine a spotlight on the incredible things our young people are doing and help their ideas, talents and ventures get noticed.
