Sometimes the simplest play is the most meaningful. For some of our younger children, or those that love sensory experiences, the playroom becomes a place to explore, create, discover and regulate their own pace. There’s no right way to play here, just opportunities to build confidence, curiosity and connection. One scoop, pour, squish and smile at a time!

**What does a child therapist do on the weekend?**

🧱 Buy 13kg of second-hand LEGO and wash every piece.

🌈 Fill shopping baskets with sensory resources, fabrics, feathers, pom poms and creative materials.

📦 Sort, organise and prepare everything ready for the therapy room.

Why?

Because every LEGO build, sensory experience and creative activity becomes an opportunity for connection, confidence, communication and emotional growth.

The things we do for the children we support ❤️

**Executive Function: The Brain’s Air Traffic Control System!**

Ever wondered why some children can remember a three-step instruction, pack their bag, start homework and stay on track... while others get stuck before they even begin?

That's executive functioning at work!

These important brain skills help us:
✔️ Get started on tasks
✔️ Stay focused
✔️ Manage emotions
✔️ Organise and plan
✔️ Follow directions
✔️ Adapt when things change

The good news? Executive functioning skills can be strengthened over time through play, practice and support.

And if your child struggles with some of these areas, they're definitely not alone — many children (and plenty of adults! 😄) are still developing these skills.

Which executive functioning skill is your superpower?

Some of the most loving, dedicated parents I meet are quietly carrying guilt they were never meant to hold. 💛

Children’s struggles are not always the result of “bad parenting” — sometimes they’re a reflection of nervous systems, learning differences, anxiety, trauma, overwhelm, or simply a child needing support in a world that can feel too big.

You don’t have to be a perfect parent to be a safe one. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is stay connected, keep showing up, and ask for support when needed.

“Big feelings don’t always come out in calm little voices… 😅
Sometimes they roar, avoid, explode, hide, control, cling, or completely shut down.

In the play room, children don’t need to explain everything perfectly to be understood. 🖤”

Friendships, confidence, communication, creativity… sometimes the most important growth happens through play. 🦋

Our Social Butterfly Club provides children with opportunities to connect, create, collaborate, and build social confidence in a warm, supportive small-group environment.

Because every child deserves a space where they feel safe to belong. ✨

LEGO® therapy is so much more than building bricks. 🧱

Through shared play, children can develop communication, teamwork, problem-solving, confidence, flexibility, and social connection — all within a supportive and engaging environment that feels safe and enjoyable.

Sometimes the best learning happens when children don’t even realise they’re learning at all. ✨
